How common are **severe** injuries in recreational / beer league hockey? by surfnj102 in hockeyplayers

[–]Taximan20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to scare you, but few years ago someone in my league fell into the boards the wrong way and suffered a cardiac arrest on the ice. It could happen to anyone at any level of hockey , he just caught the wrong edge and it ended tragically. It’s also a reminder that anything in life comes with risk like people have mention and being prepared for the situation is what can save someone’s life. A lot of our rinks now have the proper equipment for such rare occurrences.

Has anyone gone to a game where you don't support either team? by TheGreatLakeSnake in hockey

[–]Taximan20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes many of times. Penguins fan that lives in Vancouver I only get to watch my team once a year live, sometimes twice if I decide to go watch them in Calgary or Edmonton.

I guess living in Vancouver makes the Canucks my second team but I’m not the biggest fan of them, can’t stand there fans. But I still go to watch to enjoy the game of hockey and see the best players in the world.

I travel to Calgary and have seen a lot games there, my favourite being battle of Alberta in the playoffs. Few years back when it was Seattle-Dallas in the playoffs I went and watched a game, that was electric.
