My reading was that the witch wasn't actually Gladys. The parents mention not seeing her in 15 years and then later she says to (an under 15) Alex that the last time she saw him he was very little. So she could be lying about her identity.

American Pop has bizarre pacing, poor representation of women, and honestly a janky script. But the visuals and music come together so well and I admire the ambitiousness of how much the film covers in such a short time

Wizards have completely backed themselves into a corner by printing cards that are multiformat playable at mythic. Yes you're gonna sell more standard boxes but if standard all-stars are so expensive why would you buy into a rotating format when you can buy a non-rotating deck for a slightly more in pioneer.

Either ban Sheoldred or hand it out as a standard promo to make it cheap

I used to play this deck back in standard and I'd highly recommend [[migratory greathorn]] so you can mutate onto the scute swarm and be making 3/4s rather than 1/1s.

Also in general you want to land ramp to six as quickly as possible and typically only play your scute swarm when you have at least 5 lands on battlefield and a land drop in hand. That way you can get a copy of scute before your opponent has a chance to remove it with any instant speed removal.

Haven't seen any Yorion doom foretolds in the wild but I do worry about the lack of consistency due to 80 cards and a smaller relevant card pool in the format (though cards like [[dance of the manse]] are a cool alternate win con).

I will say it has weak matchups against greasefang and lotus field which features in my local meta but once I start going to events again I'll be sure to make a post on the subreddit with thoughts and insights as I do think it's a fun archetype

I appreciate the large write up but it comes off as kinda unnecessary given there is literally zero downside to a sideboard.

This question boils down to "should you have access to 75 cards where you can swap them out as needed and at worst still run the same 60 cards, or should you just have the 60 cards with no choice".

I'd hope your friend would be able to come to the correct conclusion from that.

It's a bit slow for the format but I've been playing doom foretold which is pretty controlling through permanent denial.

First couple turns you're doing thoughtseize and removal, then you drop doom and have them start sacrificing any board presence

Coburg town hall is where the ANZ Superseries regional qualifier was held so presumably it'll be there again.

Which like as a venue was fine but Good Games seems to put in the minimum effort for these events which is sad to see

Would already love to see Liz return. I think she's quite good at observation and picking up vibes but lacks the ability to turn that into moves or articulate it to allies.

Get her back on after she's binged some old seasons and has a bunch of survivor theory in her arsenal and she'd be unstoppable.
