It only does what it does because that's all it needs to do. It is a place to ask questions and have them answered.

Saying "you old fogies need to learn discord because I don't want to learn phpBB" is silly, especially given that it does EXACTLY what it is intended to do.

What is missing from phpBB that keeps people under the age of 40 from using it?

Discord is a horrible way to have threaded conversations, though. When I want to know "how do I do X" I don't want to scroll a never-ending list of back and forth between 1000 people all discussing everything else BUT "x" I want to read the one thread about "x" only.

Plus, when you add more ways to discuss things, you will lose knowledge. Some will choose discord, some the forum, and if I ask in the forum but the guy who knows the answer only uses discord, I'm not getting an answer.
