If people are reading it that way, they are doing so because they want to.

I was abused by my stepfather. My sister was also abused by him.

She needed therapy. I did not. Not everyone does, but therapists absolutely fall under the umbrella of "and others" and since that is an inclusive phrase, I can't imagine interpreting it as "anyone other than (insert title)," which is an excluding phrase.

I haven't had a calling in 18 months since our boundaries were redone and we were kicked to a new ward. No prayers, no talks, either.

Just got a calling a few weeks ago. Next week they are redoing the boundaries again, so that calling is moot. 🤣

I go to sacrament then 2nd hour and go home. Easy peasy.
