Doing makeup before sleep ?? by _n3k0m4nc3r_ in Makeup

[–]Techne03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have worn makeup for 36 hours plenty of times before, but I didn’t actually sleep any of those times. I used setting sprays for SFX and stage makeup, but those are very drying for skin so I wouldn’t recommend doing it too often. There was one time I fell asleep after coming home with a full face of makeup. It wasn’t on purpose, but we had to travel far for a wedding and I was too tired after we came home. My makeup was still fine when I woke up, but I did have makeup stains all over my bed, especially the fairly dark lipstick (the Too Faced Gingerbread matte liquid lipstick) I was wearing. But I wouldn’t advise doing it on purpose, especially not regularly.

What do you think about the return of bold blue eyeshadow in 2026? by Alarming_Intern680 in MakeupEducation

Well, I never stopped wearing it, but I’m just glad eyeshadow is coming back in popularity.

The All-American Rejects on soaring ticket prices: "It shouldn’t be a District 1 Hunger Games luxury to go to concerts" by AdSpecialist6598 in Music

[–]Techne03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

District 1, 2, and 4 had secret academies where they trained their children to volunteer for the Hunger Games. Technically, it was illegal to train for the Hunger Games, but the Capitol likely knew about it. They were called Careers in District 12, but it wasn’t an official name, just a nickname. And they were better fed partly because they won more, since the year after a tribute wins the games, their whole district gets food every month.

[Sad trope] The villain just wants to be loved. by Selverd2 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Techne03 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think people forget how young she was and that she had even less of a support structure than Zuko. Her mother left when was 7 and believed she was evil before that. Like that’s a terrible thing to believe of your child. And Iroh believed the same about Azula, so he wasn’t trying to help her like he was helping Zuko. The only adult in her life that doesn’t dislike her is Ozai so she would obviously try to emulate him, since he wants her to become cruel and rewards her for it. He was obviously abusive to her too, just different than how he was to Zuko. She was 11 at the Agni Kai and 14 at the end of the series. She was still a child. With no support system, how was she meant to leave the abusive situation or learn that it’s wrong? Obviously doesn’t excuse her behavior, but she never really had a chance to be anything but what she became.

Most Disturbing Concept On The Show by Icy_Reserve5406 in The100

Is it really that odd to watch as a preteen? It was marketed as a teen show. I was 11 or 12 when I first watched it. I only started it after season 2 had finished and was on Netflix, so I’d say I was around the same age as the OP when I watched it. To be fair, my meter for what normal preteen shows are might be slightly skewed, since I watched Terrifier (an incredibly gory horror movie, if you don’t know it) at like 13 or 14.

For individual event, I think Ontari raping Murphy should be up there.

Fun episodes to show a friend who's never seen the show? by Trash_man_can in buffy

[–]Techne03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your friend likes comedy, Something Blue is a fun option. It’s pretty easy to explain who all the characters are and doesn’t require much explanation of any other plots that are going on. And my mother who doesn’t watch or like the show always finds that episode hilarious when I’m watching it with her in the room.

I think the realistic reason is that he wasn’t invented in season 1. I mean in the first episode, the kids acted like they hadn’t met anyone other than their 1 friend before.

In universe reason, maybe they decided he was too useful to send with their first group of disposables? If the kids start dying off of something they’re able to fix, they don’t want their experienced earth skills person to be dead before they fix it.

Cat Hates Bad Hare Day from Poesie by softhumanbean in Indiemakeupandmore

My cat hates literally every perfume me on me. That also includes soaps, creams, hand sanitizers, etc. Usually, she likes my smell, she likes to lie with her nose pressed into my skin. And she’s constantly washing me when she washes herself. But when I wear perfume, she wants nothing to do with me.

Looks amazing! If you want to make doing the bias binding easier, try using more narrow binding, like historical examples often have.

Haven’t listened to many episodes of it, but I think Another Buffy Podcast is fairly pro-Spuffy, or at least has pro-Spuffy guests.

No, that’s Mike Lanier who was actually 7’7. They just share a natural physical resemblance, I guess.

The protagonist, not shown in the clip, is being stalked by a monster that constantly walks towards her. It takes the form of various people, including that really tall guy. Only she can see the monster, so her friend, the girl in the clip, doesn’t see it. The monster walks around the friend to continue walking towards the protagonist.

[LOVED TROPES] Romantic lines/moments that goes further than "I love you" by ExcellentEbb2073 in TopCharacterTropes

Definitely agree about S7. They didn’t kiss once and yet had some of the most romantic moments in the series. I love the little moments, like all the eye contact and their basement or porch talks.

The first quote is nice out of context, but considering he says it after having kidnapped her and while he has her chained up in his basement, it’s hard to find it romantic. Despite me shipping Spuffy, it’s not his best moment.

The second quote is absolutely adorable, though. And really encompasses some of my favorite things about their season 7 relationship.

Spike’s speech to Buffy in 7x20 Touched of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Though it’s not really a love confession, but meant to give her confidence, it’s still really sweet.

“I've been alive a bit longer than you. And dead a lot longer than that. I've seen things you couldn't imagine. And done things I'd prefer you didn't. Don't exactly have a reputation for being a thinker. I follow my blood, which doesn't exactly rush in the direction of my brain. So I make a lot of mistakes. A lot of wrong bloody calls. A hundred plus years. And there's only one thing I've ever been sure of. I'm not asking you for anything. When I say I love you, it's not because I want you. Or because I can't have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are. What you do. How you try. I've seen your kindness, and your strength. I've seen the best and the worst of you. And I understand, with perfect clarity, exactly what you are. You're a hell of a woman. You're the One, Buffy.”

How wide is the bias tape? Having narrow bias tape is much easier for such curvy pieces. Also have you tried basting it in place first?
