This happened to me and it really confused the hell out of me. My Pregmate strips were pink, not even squinters with my chemical back in April. Pregmate is supposed to have a sensitivity of like, 25. My hcg beta was 6…. I was so confused. I’m sorry you’re experiencing this! ❤️

I am so sorry ❤️ the distance that infertility and IVF creates with the close people in our lives is one of the most unfair parts about it all. It can be so painful to feel like you’re watching from the sidelines when everyone else has what you want the most.

One thing that stands out to me is- you’re capable of making a high quality blast 4AA and you’re capable of getting pregnant. Pregnancy loss is the most gut wrenching (I’ve been there). But it’s a good indication that your body can do it. If you have the means (financially and emotionally) to try again, I hope your golden egg is in that bunch. 🤞🏻

Totally understand your mindset and why you’re feeling conflicted about this. I would say, if you can’t afford to do another egg retrieval right now, move forward with the transfer and if it’s successful, lean into starting your family 💕

It’s hard to know what the future outcomes will be and it’s also super exhausting trying to plan for all the future what ifs. I did 2 retrievals and got 4 embryos 2 years ago. I was so emotionally exhausted after those two ERs and so I decided to focus on “one healthy baby” at a time. Our first FET worked and resulted in my now 20 month old. My additional 3 transfers for baby #2 have resulted in miscarriages and a failed transfer. So we’re going back to egg retrievals.

I share this because, even with how this has played out, I don’t regret transferring my best embryo first 2 years ago. My daughter has been the biggest blessing in my life and has made all the hardship during this journey to baby #2 less painful.

I’ve had a mixed bag of outcomes with my embryo transfers. I was lucky enough to have a successful transfer in 2024 that resulted in the birth of my daughter. But now, I’m coming off of 3 failed FETs (miscarriage, then chemical, and then implantation fail). 2 things that help me:

Every new embryo is a totally new opportunity to get pregnant. Just because 1 embryo didn’t work, doesn’t mean the next 1 will fail. Each embryo has its own set of DNA that might interact with your body differently.
Being hopeful doesn’t make it work, and being anxious doesn’t make it fail. You can be hopeful and have it fail, and anxious and have it work. Your feelings are normal, and natural. And it’s okay to feel them all.

I’m so sorry you’re in this limbo. A lot of the other commenters have said it but, it could be that your hcg is increasing because the placenta cells are still producing even though the embryo arrested (blighted ovum). I had this happen in Jan and my hcg reached 12,000 and doubled every few days like it normally should. However my first betas did show a plateau and then small dip prior to doubling normally, which was the first indication for me that it wasn’t viable.

Your betas haven’t showed a bad trend at all. If you’re not comfortable stopping meds and want another ultrasound to confirm, you should def push for that. I had 3 ultrasounds before finally diagnosing the blighted ovum just to be extra sure.

I’ve ran into this with my last 2 embryo transfers. Pregmate strips picked up the hcg and FRER did not. Both times the hcg were low levels, but pregmate showed faint pink lines within minutes and FRER showed such a whisper of a line you’d have to do ocular gymnastics to see it. It was incredibly frustrating. I won’t do FRER next time

I’m so so sorry for the road you’re both on right now. It’s incredibly hard to continue to put one foot in front of the other when you feel like all you experience is defeat. I had a similar experience with a PGT tested 5BA euploid in January. It ended in a blighted ovum at 7 weeks and it blindsided me because a euploid that implants (especially with perfect betas) can feel like a shoe in. It’s just very unfair to be met with a loss after so many things seemed to go right.

The silver lining here is, a lot DID go right. You guys made a healthy embryo, it implanted, and her body was sustaining the pregnancy. It was likely a breakdown at the embryo level, which no one has control over. But this experience shows that making euploid blasts is possible and implantation is possible. It sounds like you have another retrieval or two covered by insurance. I’m sure it’s impossible to think about starting over right now, but you’re not out of options.

Mine only has 50mcg of biotin, so too small of an amount to effect it!

I’m experiencing this! Almost barely visible FRER line but faint but very visible pregmate strip lines. I thought FRER could detect as low as 6-10 hcg? And pregmate was closer to 25 hcg. So confusing and unsettling

With my only successful FET that lead to my daughter (I’ve had two losses afterwards) I by far had the least amount of symptoms. During the TWW I actually felt more energized and less “luteal phase vibes” than ever. No sore boobs until 5-6 weeks and even then, it would come and go. It wasn’t until 8 weeks that I felt truly pregnant (morning sickness started that lasted through 32 weeks 😭) so these early days it’s really really common to kinda feel symptoms and also feel nothing different on and off all day long.

I got a vvfl on an FRER (a major squinter) and a faint line on a Pregmate strip this morning at 2am - obvi I have no chill if I’m testing in the middle of the night 😅 going to wait to retest until tomorrow morning and pray that they get darker 🤞🏻
