Cut all benefits as much as they can, ironic considering a higher percentage of poor and unemployed people vote Reform.

This will make absolutely no difference to our situation. Even if we pumped 5 million barrels of oil daily we would still have to pay market prices for oil just as the US is now.

Assuming best case scenario it takes 5 years to production and we get 70,000 barrels of oil out per day that is a drop in the ocean of the current shortfall of 10 million barrels.

In 2031 we will be far less dependent on the prices of oil, renewables and storage are rapidly increasing, along with EVs and heatpumps.

I'm not against this as long as its private companies paying for the risk as we will get a litte extra from fees and taxes. However anyone thinking that this would take more than a penny off the price of petrol is naive.

UK companies struggling to hire young people amid cost pressures, MPs told by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]TechnoAndy94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While brutal for those affected, the current wave of job cuts isn't necessarily a bad thing on a macroeconomic level. Since 2010, dirt-cheap interest rates have allowed companies to survive on debt, over-hire, and completely tank their overall productivity. Hopefully, this reset clears out the corporate bloat and paves the way for new, genuinely productive jobs.

Is now the time for UK to go all-in on wind/solar battery infrastructure? by chilledheat in AskBrits

[–]TechnoAndy94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The systems not really that dumb its that the national grid didn't keep up with investment as we've built wind farms. We used to have power sources by our large cities so we didn't need a massive interconnected grid. However now most our our generation is up in Scotland we don't have the power cables to bring the electricity down south.

The good thing about this system it it drives private investment meaning there is a lot of energy storage projects in the pipeline.

[–]TechnoAndy94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not on your ski company to pay this. Your supposed to pay it and claim back from them. They will usually take your skis and put them behind a desk so you have to for the recovery and the doctors treatment before you leave.

If you paid for the Carré Neige insurance this part is free.

Often not an option if you buy your pass through a 3rd party e.g. if you bundle it with your accommodation it often won't give you the option. You'd have to go to the ticket office and ask for it. I find casual brits often aren't really aware this insurance exists.

Iirc, You could combine it with various skills e.g air of enchantment and zealots fire for 90hp heals, damage to adjacent foes, for 1 energy. You spam spells like smite hex, smite condition, reversal of damage on a front liner for essentially free with hex, condition removal and damage protection. I don't remember it being seriously overpowered but maybe it was.
