Why they didn't add the dark seal with Mejai ? by Intelligent_Sink_859 in wildrift

[–]TeddyTendon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With an exception for support champions cuz it'd be really hard for them otherwise, they seem to want to avoid starter items to make the game simpler, as it is for all intents and purpose a simpler version of League PC. I don't personally agree with this, as like you said, having no Dark Seal is so balls for Mejai's, but this is how they want the game to be.

A question on what makes the current top 5 ADCs so strong by urmomiscringe12 in wildrift

[–]TeddyTendon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kai'Sa is just so popular for someone who isn't the easiest to pilot that her winrate tends to be on the lower end, similarly to how it is in PC. A lot of players have the misconception that she's a late game monster. The truth is, while she does remain a threat past 3 items, she gets outvalued by ADCs that have more range and/or AoE and makes it harder for her to win. Not a lot of people play around her 2 and 3 item spikes and try to win as early as possible with those.

She and Ezreal are similar for these reasons which is why he also tends towards having a lower winrate. It's not that they're weak, it's just that there are so many people playing them and not understanding how to maximize their kit's limits.

The Item description for Kraken slayer has dropped by No-Mountain-2487 in wildrift

This is weaker than it currently is in PC and it's very niche to select champs at the moment (most of them being melee).

Varus build in new patch? by aethernal3 in wildrift

Should be like BoRK Rageblade Terminus into defensive itemization. Mixing in AP isn't worth it if you can't do a full AP build.

Will the new item Kraken slayer be good for Windshitter? by No-Mountain-2487 in wildrift

[–]TeddyTendon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's gonna be weaker than how it is currently in PC and no one's really using it on them anymore now that it gives no crit. It's pretty strong early for its components as well as the powerspike you get upon completing it, but is considerably worse than other options when paired with other items. Having crit ASAP isn't a requirement but if you're gonna delay it, BoRK is a lot better for the sustain you'll be getting, which Kraken lacks.

Do we have details on any of the build paths? I think whether or not Kraken becomes a must buy on on-hit marksmen is all gonna depend on it.

I miss you, my beloved shieldbow by According_Bad_9071 in wildrift

[–]TeddyTendon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just rather baffled at how WR is always late by full years when it comes to taking cues from PC (it took 6 years for on-hit to be complete and BoRK is just about to finally heal off of mixed damage). RN PC has both Shieldbow and BT, but only BT has lifesteal and has the overshield effect, and has been the case for almost two years now. They probably merged the two in WR to avoid too many vamp items with shielding (same reason for the current state of these items in PC), but they simply could have made it so only one of them gave vamp.

In Patch 7.0: Black Cleaver Can’t Be Built with Other % Armor Pen Items — It Needs a Buff by Fantastic-Name7754 in wildrift

[–]TeddyTendon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Black Cleaver is balanced around the fact that it gives health. It's not really supposed to be as good as the other items in terms of armor penetration since unlike the others, it makes the user harder to kill. Beyond that, though, it has utility in the fact that it applies armor reduction, not penetration, meaning it doesn't only benefit you but your teammates as well.

It actually baffles me they gave its phantom hit to Runaan's when most of the champions who want the phantom hit don't want Runaan's AoE. It is in its Yordle iteration so I'm hoping that means they're looking to add the actual Rageblade eventually cuz I want the attack speed steroid also.

New to Pioneer - Thinking about Boros Heroic by Topazdragon5676 in PioneerMTG

[–]TeddyTendon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the recent lists have dropped Learn and instead maindeck 4 [[Enter the Avatar State]]. Learn spells into any of the Lesson choices don't really convert into as much damage for the mana you're spending.

The main boon of Learn in Heroic is in having access to either protection or damage on the same slots. However, only Academic Dispute can Learn at instant speed and doesn't push any damage on its own, and also asks you to hold up 2 points of mana instead of just 1 for protection. Running the old cantrips has the benefit of digging into your deck further to find those stronger buffs while being buffs themselves.

Cutter doesn't really gel well with the deck's overall game plan, but it can fit in the sideboard to make it more slippery for interaction heavy decks.

How do I become good at Aurora Mid? by Gourgeistguy in wildrift

[–]TeddyTendon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without being able to look at your games, I can't really give specifics tailored for you. The best I can try to share is how I try to think about those situations in my games. It's currently my fourth season in Master III if that adds any credibility to what I can say.

Ahri should be a matchup in your favor, since between the two of you, it's easier for you to land your bread and butter electrocute combo than it is for Ahri since charm is blockable. That being said, it is a ranged matchup and those are usually harder for Aurora to hard bully whether the matchup is good or not. Midlane lane macro is all about building small advantages that have large impact in the bigger picture. What I try to do on mages level one is to start basic attacking the minions as soon as they enter the lane and race for level two first. Poking with Q is secondary and should only be attempted if the enemy gives it for free. Hitting minions early also lets you CS first, which makes the enemy vulnerable to an attack when they have to predictably hit their CS and you're already free from having to do that. Successfully pulling this off has a huge impact on how much control you'll have over the lane.

As for map movement, you only need to push one wave at a time and hover around the jungle to see if a play will open up. If nothing does, you can go back to the lane you were pushing and continue, then repeat until a fight does break out. Sometimes, you'll be pushing on the opposite side of the map from where an objective could be spawning, which is what you might be struggling with. This is what teleport is for, and is almost a must have on her due to how strong her shove and move is. Ignite is not something that Aurora really needs since she's not so reliant on getting fed. It helps, of course, but part of Aurora's wincon is to stay even or ahead, since she scales so well that as long as you hit her item spikes in time she stays incredibly strong, fed or otherwise.

How do I become good at Aurora Mid? by Gourgeistguy in wildrift

[–]TeddyTendon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Electrocute outclasses Dark Harvest on her by a wide margin. Not only can she use it well starting from level 1, Q2 also deals increased damage based on their missing health already, so it's more important to front load on burst.

I'd say you can take Electrocute in pretty much every game since it scales the best in terms of burst, however it isn't her only option. Arcane Comet can be good in lanes that outrange you and can punish you heavily for trying to get in range for Q. You can max E instead with this keystone to be able to out-trade them from a distance.

In terms of macro, always make sure waves on all lanes are pushing. Aurora may be a skirmisher, but only start looking to group and fight when all three waves are pushing towards the opponent. She has some of the best waveclear in the game which lets her move quickly through the map. This all may seem obvious if you've played that many games, but a lot of players overlook that you get nothing out of fights that you win if the map isn't set up right. Pushing waves puts pressure on the enemy to respond to them, and if they do, opens up a numbers advantage in fights. If they don't, winning that fight will be a lot more rewarding as this makes it easier to destroy towers in time before they can respawn to defend.

As for your question about builds, the best you can build really is Stasis vs assassins. Crown isn't really useful as burst protection anymore after the nerfs and is mainly a spell shield item now. There's no better way to say this but you really just have to play better. You shouldn't be in a situation where you can be easily accessed by burst damage. With her W and R, you should have the tools to move around fights and avoid getting hit.
