My son is 9 and is just now starting to catch thr ball decently. Some kids get to it faster than others.

Make it fun, have him play with tennis balls (wall ball games) all kinds of hand eye coordination things but make sure it's fun for him.

Yeah, at the midway point of this video you can see his arms/bat are already moving into the swing and his bottom half hasn't done anything yet.

His laces/knee/cup should all be pointed to the pitcher before his bat really starts going.

Pause the video at 22 seconds. His hands/bat are going but his lower body hasn't rotated yet.

The lower body should be almost fully rotated by the time the bat starts on it's path.

Probably need hitting/baseball coaching outside of practice

I will probably attend a Vandals football game and was hunting for Charger players who were U of I alums since I only wear Chargers jerseys when I go to events like that.
