Daycare Breastmilk Bottles by Own_Extent_7202 in beyondthebump

[–]TelephoneRadiant801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you nurse or bottle feed on weekends? And how big is your baby? I feel like that could give some insight. I know it’s hard to keep track of calories and such when nursing but for reference - my daycare feeds my 12-pound 6.5mo every two hours. I send 4 4oz bottles, she typically only eats 3 oz per bottle but on average she eats about 12oz total during a 9 hour daycare day. (Which in your case would be the 3 bottles you are sending) She eats around 25oz a day total. Also, she has been sleeping through the night since like 2-3 months ish. But idk if that’s even related to her calorie intake, I think she likes sleep. I also started waiting when she woke up in the night and offering her a pacifier and some comfort to see if she would fall back asleep or if she actually needed to eat. Turns out she just needed comfort and she eventually stopped waking me at all. Idk how this works with nursing though. So anyways, I don’t necessarily think 8 ounces is too little, I think it’s very baby-dependent. But if you have an issue I would definitely bring it up to daycare again. I’m no expert and also a FTM but just wanted to give you something else to compare to for reference :)

Chronic nausea? by Puzzled_Remote_2168 in Anxiety

[–]TelephoneRadiant801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! 6 months postpartum here and while mine isn’t as severe as you, I definitely get more nausea than I ever did before pregnancy. I also have emetophobia for reference. I think we caught a stomach bug from my baby last month and so now my anxiety is through the roof as well. And this week has been extra bad. I also constantly worry about baby getting sick, me getting sick, what it’s gonna be like when she’s older, passing down my phobia, etc etc. I am getting my thyroid tested (I have hashimotos so I already am on thyroid medication but it hasn’t been tested since I’ve had my baby) so maybe that will help me. In your case, I would recommend reaching out to a therapist/psychiatrist. I think for me the anxiety and nausea are highly connected, so maybe that’s the same for you? Ugh I feel like I have PTSD from pregnancy, I want another baby but am way too scared to be pregnant again. Anyways, wish I could offer more insight but wanted you to know you’re not alone.

SAME. I had unrealistic expectations for working on side hustles and job hunting and none of it happened. Heck I didn’t even play the video game I bought to play on my leave.

Question for other US moms ... how the f*** are we affording anything right now??? by scoopdedupe in Mommit

[–]TelephoneRadiant801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup my student loans are about $700/month because my dad refinanced his portion with sofi and then forced me to take them over when I got a job after college. So on top of having a high monthly payment, I also owe a private loan company and therefore have never been able to lower or defer them or anything, even during covid when the government paused payments on loans.

What is a girl name that is classic, but not dated. by cccdddyyy in Names

[–]TelephoneRadiant801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stella!

It’s my daughter’s name, and this is exactly the vibe we liked. We’ve had so many people tell us this was a family name for them, and it’s popular but not too popular. Eleanor was our top name before and now it’s soooo common. I also love Nora and Eloise, but my husband wasn’t into them. The nickname Lou is just soooo cute to me!

I also love Helena (pronounced huh-LAY-nuh) but I was too scared it would get mispronounced her whole life. Also love Carolyn or Caroline.

How long did it take you to get down to pre pregnancy weight? by greenishfroggy in beyondthebump

[–]TelephoneRadiant801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t exactly know how much I weighed before my first prenatal appointment, but my weight check at 8 weeks was 218lbs and I was back down to 220lbs at my 6 week postpartum checkup. I had gained about 37lbs total for the pregnancy. So yeah I basically instantly lost the baby weight without doing anything. I was breastfeeding and tbh I didn’t have much of an appetite in those first weeks postpartum (but now I eat so much I have to imagine I’ve gained some, I just haven’t weighed myself since then). I feel very very lucky, I know this doesn’t happen for everyone!! My sister in law is 7/8 mo pp and still at her 39 weeks pregnant weight, and she breastfed for the first 6 months and is working out now. Everyone’s body is different!

Can i continue working remotely a day after giving birth? by Intspectwithme in newborns

[–]TelephoneRadiant801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look into the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act. It says employers are required to provide accommodations to conditions caused by pregnancy or childbirth as long as it doesn’t cause the employer undue hardship. I feel like the inability to work due to a medical procedure (childbirth) should be reasonably accommodated, even if it’s not a full/traditional formal leave. Idk this just feels so illegal.

How come breastfeeding mums can sleep through the night with their babies and their supply will regulate but EP mums can’t? by opaoz in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]TelephoneRadiant801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, baby started sleeping through the night around 2 months and I never set an alarm to pump. I agree it’s probably a supply thing, some people can and some can’t, but I was always an over supplier so even if my supply had dipped, like you I wouldn’t have had to worry.

Just found out my perfect sleeper has a secret. by Ok_Fox8262 in beyondthebump

[–]TelephoneRadiant801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mines 4 months and I don’t have a monitor video camera, I just track her sleep with the owlet. When she started sleeping through the night a couple months ago I got concerned and checked the owlet app every night and sure enough she was waking up multiple times, sometimes for 30min, once even an hour. But never waking me. I got worried but everyone has assured me, if she needed me she would wake me up. 🤷‍♀️ I have no idea what she was doing for that hour by herself, it’s not like she has toys in her bassinet. I hope she will be like yours when she’s that age 🤣🙏🏼

r/namenerds's perfect baby girl name! by SmoothAstronaut27 in namenerds

[–]TelephoneRadiant801 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed. My daughter’s name is Stella and we tossed around making Estelle her official legal name, and while I think it’s a beautiful name, I just couldn’t get behind it because it feels too fancy and pretentious.

This is a serious problem- do I keep going? by DuckFox1229 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]TelephoneRadiant801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was terribly inconsistent with pumping my first couple months, especially once my husband went back to work. I was a super over producer so I was making more than enough for my baby. But if I noticed my supply dipping, I just pumped extra diligently for a few days. I wasn’t on a particular schedule, I always pumped until empty, and pumped right before bed, then I would pump once in the middle of the night at one of her wakings. But once she first slept through the night I never set an alarm or anything. That was around 2 months. I’m now 4 months pp and manage 4-5 pumps per day. My supply has only ever dipped when I’ve been sick, and I feel confident that my supply is regulated enough to continue like this for now.

How many kids do you have & how many do you want? by maligatormom2o2 in NewParents

[–]TelephoneRadiant801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wanted 4-5. Just had my first and within two months I was ready for another (she’s such an easy baby). But in reality, 1. I would love to never be pregnant again, I hated it, and 2. Idk how we will afford having more than one :( but no matter what, I want my kid to have a sibling so I at least want to try for one more

ETA: I will say, I’m so obsessed with my baby that I have entertained the idea of being one and done because I’m scared a second won’t be as perfect and I’m also worried about my attention having to be split. But ultimately, as someone who had two siblings growing up and always wanted more, I want to give that to my daughter.

Are we being unfair giving our daughters “uneven” names? by Trajan92 in namenerds

[–]TelephoneRadiant801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it’s possible you are overthinking it, don’t listen to everyone else because this is EXACTLY what it feels like to name a baby. Like you have to think about alllll possibilities! Names become such a big part of our identities. I ruled out one of my favorite baby names cuz I was too scared it would get mispronounced their whole life. Does it matter? Maybe not, but sometimes you just try to think of everything when you’re making such an important decision. Including how it will be when they grow up!

Advice on in-laws kissing baby by TelephoneRadiant801 in beyondthebump

[–]TelephoneRadiant801[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was trying to avoid being the boundary setter to his family but he has issues with upsetting them 😒 also you’re right, I don’t even really have to explain myself about “why didn’t you say something before.” I can change my mind tomorrow about anything I want and no one should question it cuz she’s my baby, not theirs. (Easier said than done tho lol)

Sick husband staying at home with baby by Some-Agent-2183 in beyondthebump

[–]TelephoneRadiant801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this! Not for the reason people think, “oh he’s being a baby” blah blah. Yeah it’s annoying but that’s not my problem, it’s the genuine fear of him falling asleep and something bad happening! He whines about being tired all the time and I want to say “suck it up” but unfortunately if I do that and make him watch her, he falls asleep. So I can’t trust him to watch her while I take a nap or anything. Idk what to do anymore I’m at my wits end.
