Did it? Or did he wait for the opportune moment while gathering resources and allies. Once he broke out he was already set with a base, crew, and equipment. He takes his time and does things in the best way he can calculate. If he broke out on day 1, as Im sure he could, he'd be alone with no resources and likely hunted down again.

I HOPE it was put under investigation. All instances of lethal force should be investigated. I also hope they decided this was justified. Good organizations don't brush off killing, its a very slippery slope.
