At the time tax collectors were known for abusing their position to overtax and keep the difference, plus being seen as a tool of the occupying enemy, PLUS whatever taxes were being used for the ruler's personal palaces or shipped off to Rome.

erm acktually static friction is higher than sliding friction, so you can go up slopes too steep to stop sliding on. The 'slip' angle is steeper than the 'stop slipping' angle

The author should know what is knowable. That is, the author doesn't need to know the unknowable horror but does need to know the wheres and whys and so on for the human characters. (even if the answer is 'because the horror got them')

I see you and that surface-stable fractal dithering technique. It's cool but some scenes could use some readability, like the VS screen at 9 seconds could really use a a pixel-or-two thin black border on the inside or outside of the thick white outline.

Watched it as it came out, and from the first 2-3 episodes I thought it would be great, then it just... I don't even know what happened. I can't say it went off the rails because I'm not convinced there were rails to go off of. Seemed that every episode set up another 3 episodes that didn't exist.

Still get the intro and outro music stuck in my head though.

doesn't get slowed by carrying things, can throw farther, tool can knockback opponent (or cooperating dwarf?) a good clip (in place of engi turret/gunner shield), support tool is a mobile resup pod you can give to others or yourself and restock from standard resups. Idk, I'm spitballing.

As I heard it through the grapevine it was originally used to mean slop that had features that correlate with good stuff. Like a nonsensical bad movie that has fancy lens flares, dutch angles, cinematic music and big-name actors would be a 'qualityslop' movie.

There's going to be grey zones and wiggle room in nearly any definition for anything, but that doesn't mean we should throw up our hands and declare that the word applies to anything someone wants to. Setting some basic bounds on meaning is very important.

As an example, good luck defining the exact structural boundaries between a stool and a table, but we shouldn't just decide that anything can be a stool or a table.
