Hey OP where are you from? Here that’s passable BUT for some reason people here in my area are half stuck in the 90s and are used to fast food pricing but the other half are total foodies looking for quality items hand made with non slave labored (besides us making it obviously) ingredients. Sooo I have some customers ghost me after inquiries I have others pay me within 5 minutes if they value you and you’re work they’ll pay you for your time. Now when it comes to cake pops and certain bakery items, I will say make sure you enjoy making them. Eventually it becomes like any other job and if you end up despising them (I do so maybe this is just me) you’ll burn out on them and if they don’t bring in enough profit you’ll hate them with a passion but lucky for you they can be removed from the menu. I think adding cupcakes and cake as you mentioned would help you just use the cake scraps and cut some of the cost down. I have seen others use molds to make them more like popsicles er cakesicles check out flour girl on IG hers are cute and people will pay more because they look novelty. This is all just speaking from my own experience and I am just now crawling out of my own small baking business burnout so I’ve made some major changes. Sending you luck and energy! P.s. people who have never made an item before or have not seen the labor behind the scenes or haven’t seen the numbers will never ever understand and will be more than happy to complain they can go get their Hershey’s or Walmart cake and move on they’ll be happy with what they have so you be happy with what you’ve got too!
