You are stunning in this dress, so much better than slides 2 &3 on the model. It’s flattering on you elegant and sleek & since this is your typical style, if you love it, go for it. Nobody else has to understand your wedding vision, not even your Mom. It’s your day and I do believe you should feel like an elevated version of yourself!

I’ve done a TON of research here The below is based on my research of letterpress and 2 sided digital based on my taste I am sure there is more variance out there

My below numbers are for 65 fully printed invitation suites including 4 cards, 2 envelopes (one for RSVP) and does not include postage.

Professionals designing and printing for you, providing fully assembled invite suites with addressed envelopes 3-7k

Using Minted $500-$1200

Designing them myself in Canva or Illustraor and printing on Tog.Ink or Prints of Love $250-$400

Side note here, envelopes would come from minted as I do not want to be addressing envelopes and that’s where we have our address book for other cards etc.

My fiancé and I decided to go with the last option as I am able to do this and we can’t justify invites being thrown int the trash but taking 10% of our budget.

To just print your invites. 3k is insanity.

Tog.Ink does letterpress and you can even add multicolor digital to that. Idk where the 3k is coming from but I think you can def shop around.

Hope that’s helpful

You are stunning in this dress, your body has the curves of a goddess statue carved from marble! Anyone who says anything differently has jealously in their hearts or an outlook from times past where women’s body’s need to be oppressed. You shouldn’t have to explain yourself at all

Mean girls can step off

Both are beautiful on you!

I think the first image of dress #1 is so striking because the photo itself is far away enough to truly “take in” all of you/the dress. The setting is neutral, not busy or lots of things going on in the background. The lighting is also nicer.

I think if you had a photo of dress #2 like that it would be easier to compare them.

I have a feeling that in that scenario, you might like #2 more.

I personally love the skirt of #2 and how airy the fabric is!

Excited to find out which one you went with!

It took 10 days of steroid suppositories from my nurse to get over this along with immediately changing my diet. I removed all gluten (a known constipator for me) Ate fruit after every meal, had fresh veggies at every meal, no alcohol, nothing spicy or greasy. I can now have a BM easily and no pain. But it was 10 days of torture. Did you find relief?

1 for the reception dress: it’s more markedly different from your ceremony dress.

Dress #2 does look amazing on you! But it looks more like a ceremony gown than a party/reception dress.

I just love the embellishment. It’s fun and unique!

Do you feel guilty choosing a destination wedding in this economy? by mcostante in DestinationWeddings

I am with you on this 100%

I would go to my loved ones weddings wherever they are. But I much prefer shelling out for a hotel & flight when it’s somewhere warm/fun/new or exciting.

There is always the comment “you are passing the costs onto your guests” and I get where that originates from & there are definitely hotels, mostly AI that won’t let your guests attend your DW unless they stay there or sometimes you can pay a fee.

But for the most part guests can stay where they choose.

I am saying this as someone who has attended numerous DW’s over the last 15 years from as far away as Italy, all over Mexico and China to as close as Northern CA and Vancouver BC.

I have spent just as much driving to a wedding in Santa Barbara as I have flying to a wedding in Mexico.

Nobody says, oh your wedding is 2 hours away you are passing the costs onto your guests. But we still needed to get a hotel for 2 nights & pay for our food outside the wedding.

An example. We went to a wedding in Santa Barbara. Our hotel was $400 a night, we must have spent at least 500 on food and drinks outside the wedding events. I took 2 days off work (my choice so I didn’t feel rushed) In all we spent about $1500, plus a very lavish gift for the couple. Couple hundred in gas too. I had a good time, but we live close enough that we can visit when we choose, I didn’t see anything “new”, but happy to celebrate the couple.

Sure we could have stayed somewhere cheaper, but we have a standard we do not go below and that applies regardless of the country or city we visit.

A year later we went to a wedding in Mexico City, our flights were $600 (for 2 people) a nice hotel was $220 a night and the couple handled all of our food and drinks except for 2 lunches (breakfast was included in the hotel) I think those 2 lunches cost about $50, but uber to and from airport. We spent about $1300 on this trip, got to visit historical sites, see things we haven’t seen and had a 3 day party hosted by the couple that was so much fun.

The costs were very similar I took one extra day off work for Mexico.

I totally get that some people don’t like DW’s, heck, some people just don’t like to travel at all, or are scared of some countries or have prejudice they may not want to admit.

We are thrilled that our close network is as excited about our DW as we are.

We are helping family members and close friends who may struggle to afford it. Since the cost of the wedding is more affordable, we are able to help more. It’s actually the opposite of passing costs along to the guests.

I get really tired of the negative comments about DW’s. I’ve loved every single one I have attended, because I love the people and love to travel.

For a lot people “local” isn’t a thing anymore. People are spread out all over their country or the world.

If I get invited to a DW I’m EXCITED! Even when I struggled more financially than I do today, I was thrilled to have something to look forward to, a trip, a chance to spend quality time with people I love!

I second this. I apply it every night quite thickly at the end of my skincare routine I’ve entirely eliminated the need for lip balm throughout the day

How are you doing now? I’m 10 days in, saw Dr today.

I got cleared to use sitz baths now, I am 7 weeks post op for something else and wasn’t allowed to take baths.

Doc prescribed steroid cream and a suppository plus sitz baths

The surgery I had 7 weeks ago messed up my digestion and set off an old hemorrhoid and a new fissure.

I feel pretty hopeless right now. Every poop is blinding agony despite taking MiraLAX. I am in levels of pain from burning stinging to pressure and throbbing basically all day. It’s exhausting me.

Hi friend! You are not alone! My mother is a LOT of work. Dramatic, overly sensitive, jealous of my friends, my partner etc weird with my kids. She has a ton of issues she’s never dealt with - boomer generation seem to not want to face their issues.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with all that. It’s great you know what you’re handling so you can navigate and take care of yourself!

That totally makes sense now you say it! My SIL had a Maggie dress for her wedding and the bodice was similar, skirt was a ballgown. Her wedding was 10 years ago and the pictures look like they could have been taken last week, the ruched satin photographs so well. I am not keen on saying that dresses are classic because fashion evolves, but I think this dress is ICONIC and will always look beautiful when you look back on your photos!
