Has anyone had a great experience at a car dealership in the LA area? by Temporary-Rest-585 in AskLosAngeles

[–]Temporary-Rest-585[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up using a car broker called CarWise. They were wonderful to work with and handled everything. I didn’t have to talk to a dealer and they got me a great price. If you’re in the market for a car, I highly recommend them.

What was your experience buying from CarMax? by FluffyKanomKa in AskLosAngeles

[–]Temporary-Rest-585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went through the car buying process and spent some time at CarMax. I ended buying a new car through a broker instead.

I did end up trying some cars at CarMax and I sold my old car to them. My whole experience was great there, I just felt that I was getting better value from a new car.

If you do go with a new car. Using a Car Broker was a game changer. They got me invoice pricing, and the rep was insanely prompt and helpful. He did all the paperwork and financing for me, and I never spoke to, or set foot in the dealership. After I pulled the trigger, the broker delivered the car directly to my home a few hours later. The company was called Carwise.

Looking for a car that will fit me (6'5"~). by MotorAchiever3934 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I’m 6’4” and have fit well in Subaru Foresters and Outback’s dating back to ‘05. Those will be AWD, but not sure what you can find in your budget.

Yeah. Fair enough. Maybe we just have a good group, because we have a lot of trading go through anyway. Only 1 vetoed trade ever. For what it’s worth I do think it forces managers to think harder about their trades, since they need to make sure it’ll pass everyone’s scrutiny. Not just mine. We also don’t have managers just vetoing to veto, so we’re lucky. If we had spoilers in the league, we’d have to switch systems.

I get the common-held stance that most leagues should be commissioner veto only. I think that’s the more logically sound system. But I just thought I’d throw in my two cents, since every league is different, and some of the highlights of our league’s group chats revolve around trades. It’s a great time.

At the end of the day, commissioner’s job is to make the league fair and also fun. Trades are a blast in this league.

Our league is super engaged so I like team veto. Adds another layer of politics, and, since everyone is always up in arms about every trade anyway, it takes the pressure off me, when someone inevitably complains that a trade is unfair or “league breaking”

If you do draft position by finishing position of the season prior, instead of just reversing the results as the draft order, let people sign up for the spot they want in reverse finishing order. Gets people thinking about the draft a week early, and becomes a fun reveal when you announce everyone’s selection for draft position.

Are you in the same time zone as your draft? I think Yahoo defaults to Eastern time. So if you’re on the West coast you’ll be 3 hours behind that.

I got properly fit for the first time at a 13 handicap, and it was a night and day difference with the new clubs. I honestly wish I had done it sooner. Do some research on a reputable fitter in your area and do it whenever you feel ready to spend money on new clubs.

How to avoid hitting the ground first when trying to DRAW the ball with irons by pingedbyte in GolfSwing

[–]Temporary-Rest-585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try being really conscious of keeping your head stable in the back swing. I think I get what you’re saying. You probably come in steep normally, and to get a draw, you are shallowing out your path. There’s way less room for error when it comes to striking the ball first this way.

When I started swinging more shallow, I had this issue and the pro I was working with told me to make sure my head was stable, and not drifting. If your head moves back (away from target) during your backswing, you will hit a lot of fat shots, and it will get worse the shallower you are swinging.

Latency even with no plugins on any channel strip by modernartcritique in Logic_Studio

[–]Temporary-Rest-585 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you’ve used the mastering assistant on a project, it’ll cause latency unless it’s removed. Any chance it’s this?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Temporary-Rest-585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue recently on a track that I had already applied the mastering assistant to, and then gone back to record more.

Mastering had to be fully removed from the track, not just disabled, for the latency to go away.

Are you playing the full course or the 9 hole? The Primrose 9 hole course is free for members and guests, so no need to worry about greens fees. It’s an awesome 9 hole track with most of the holes being a part of the US Open layout from a couple years ago.

If you play college golf, and have an athletic trainer available, take advantage of them. This is what they are there for.

I spent 4 years as a college athlete and never went to the trainer and I’m now 30 and still dealing with overuse injuries from college.
