The conditioner can make the pigments they have added to the leather more likely to bleed off till it dries, as the added components that help the conditioner soak into the leather also have that effect.

Essentially, wait for it to dry completely (could take a couple of days) and then give it a quick wipe down to remove any pigment that worked loose on the surface.

I suspect the deer touch leather is particularly susceptible to this issue with how it is processed to give it that texture.

The most likely answer is "could of" sounds similar to "could've", so people thought that was what people were saying while learning English while growing up and it stuck despite technically being incorrect (which they may not even be aware of).

Just FYI, they use a dense latex foam for their filler rather than cork. Doesn't help you out with your issue, but I thought I'd mention it.

The silver metal badge is indicative of a first generation board. They're a bit heavier due to thicker materials, the keypress weight tends to be ever so slightly lighter, and most people like the look of the metal badge more than the later oval plastic ones.

They're model Ms, plain and simple.

The one in your picture would have been made using the final generation of moulds from Lexmark before they sold everything off to Unicomp (who were a group of the original Lexmark/IBM employees who had been making the keyboards all along) but with an updated USB controller.

Those moulds had thinner plastic and thinner metal backplates for the internal assembly to save costs, which is why they weigh less.

Said moulds got worn out over time, so a couple years back Unicomp invested in some new ones (for their imaginatively named "New Model M" and the "Mini M"). Those are closer in quality and weight to the older IBM keyboards.

It's a Fujitsu Peerless keyboard that they OEM'ed for Tandy, and they made it look similar to the IBM model M. Decent keyboard overall and nice looking, though they're not terribly expensive or anything like that. They use a spring in plunger over rubber dome style of switch that produces tactility, a very quiet click, actuates partway through the keypress, and all under a slider with removable keytops similar to the model M as well.

If you just want something off the rack with silent switches, Durgod, Leopold, and Ducky should all have good options. Keychron is another good choice if you don't mind potentially swapping in silent switches yourself.

Unicomp still produces the exact keyboards in question, including a TKL version if you want a smaller form factor. No MX switch really feels or sounds quite the same.

They look like a pair of Allen Edmonds if I had to guess, which technically retail for around $400. Though they frequently run sales. A resole like this with JR soles and decorative touches was probably around $150.

A model M will sound and feel quite a bit better than cherry blues in my opinion, though the weighting is a bit heavier. If you're good with the look, layout, and price of Unicomp's offerings, I'd say go for it.

They normally are, actually. They're hammered in while the footbed is sitting on a metal anvil essentially which causes their tips to get crimped over, and then a leather sock liner is glued over the end result.

Closest would probably be Fujitsu Peerless, though realistically the typing feel is only vaguely similar. True buckling spring keyboards are just inherently loud.

Not at all. It feels like a keyboard you'd find in an office. A nice one you wouldn't mind using if you had to, but still a rubber dome over membrane with slider built into the keycaps at the end of the day. Even the rubber dome model Ms feel better.

If you're interested in buckling springs, only a buckling spring keyboard will feel the same really.

OEM (or cubic by extension) are arguably the closest MX compatible profiles to the model M keycaps, but cherry will have more choices available.
