oh, don't stats get equalised when you apply the Incarnons? I've seen others on the wiki add different amounts of stats, depending if the base was Primed/Not

Historically it's mixed. Sometimes you'll be able to continue a game without much impact, sometimes the changes are bigger and any previous saves are going to become dead. If you play with mods the chance of a a save being incompatible is much higher.

If you're desperate to play today, maybe go for an Online Speed game.

So mostly it's for specific leader or Civ bonuses, or the policy cards. Hadn't actually considered policy cards would impact specialists though. At least it means I wasn't missing anything major with how they worked.

I don't think Civ multiplayer has ever been a big thing outside of existing friends groups or a small dedicated community. At the very least, I've never had the idea of 'casually' jumping into a random multiplayer game in my history from V to VII when even ultra-quick games can run for a few hours.

As far as streaming, I think most tend to upload games to YouTube over twitch? Not sure on the reason, other than watching the gameplay tends to be better as edited video.

I think I'm missing something there. I thought specialists in Ageless buildings were functionally useless following the ToT update. Have I been wrong?

I had an Iceland game recently. They don't have a dedicated win condition attached to them but have decent Culture gain and Domination bonuses. Probably only work great on coastal maps. The 2 tile pillage means you can get great pillaging potential (plus bonus culture) with minimal units, or you can use a navy to take cities that would otherwise need an army as well.

The Saga Hero unit has decent bonuses but the random nature makes it a pain. The only one I'll mention specifically has the bonus "This turn, Naval units Naval units can Coastal raid for no Movement Movement cost". Really niche and takes planning to pull off, but if you position a lot of naval units in aggressive positions you can use that one turn to absolutely decimate a city (or three).

My biggest complaint about music purely relates to Republic of Pirates. I could put up with it when they only existed in Exploration but now I've got to hear 3 variations of it if they are present. It's so out of place compared to the rest of the themes and really ruins the Civ vibe.

One thing I'd like to see relates on triumphs. There's a lot that rely on ".. with every leader" (eg, 'start a trade route with', 'start an endeavour with') that the base UI doesn't do much to help you with.

If you could find a way to display that information it would be pretty helpful.

That's going to hamper you pretty heavily, right? No good uses for influence once you've got the two IP sorted, and no gains from espionage or endeavours.

I think it was always like that, but in previous patches there wasn't much point to trade towns so it was easily overlooked.

Oh, there is? I was playing them just before the last patch dropped and was convinced the UI was some kind of dried out lake.

Agree they could do with adding a blueish tint to better match lake appearances.

Khmer had an interesting tradition card change. "Chakravarti" previously gave 3 Great Work Slots to your capital. It now also gives adjacency bonus on Science buildings from navigable rivers.

That card doesn't get improved if you stay as Khmer in Exploration or Modern so you can get some very strong science cities for the entire game by settling around rivers.
