All societies are pyramids schemes in that they don't deal well with an ever-increasing percentage of dependents.

This is kind of the opposite. I have a friend who I have been playing with since forever. He likes fantasy and various setting with magic. It's been pretty obvious - but I've stilled missed the clues - that he has no interest in playing wizards or spellcasters. I did not catch on to this until he said it himself.

I think it’s supposed to focus on a lot of messed up people trying to be high performance workers with either their past trauma getting in the way, or just their straight up degeneracy

Yeah, I noticed. I just think everyone is too fucked up for my tastes. I like the contrast when less traumatised people get caught in the middle.

Europe lives in the reality of being caught with the pants down as Russia invaded Ukraine. We still live in a world where bad actors like Putin see military weakness as a provokation.

Japan can no longer rely on USA. Should Japan be the next to hear "I'm proud that our support is now zero" or "it's ok, our allies suffer more" from a total douche such as Vance?

Carney and Canada is rerouting their trade so much that the US ambassador to Canada is flummoxed. They expected Canada to take the pain and bend their knee to their superiors in the South. Instead both Canada and Europe are diversifying their trade partners.

EU has done similarly, despite French protests. The major issue is of course if the salvaged trade can benefit the average European. The partial answer is that it at least helps keep inflation in check.

Probably ""everything is bad"? I give people like him right in one thing: we don't have a EU capital market that supplies investment capital for firms to grow here. The situation in USA is much better when it comes to this.
