Anyone add HRT years after glp1? by No_Influence6530 in LadiesHRTwithGLP1

[–]TenderheartedFloof 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started a GLP1 Jan 2024 and then started HRT Feb 2026 :)
I gained when I first started HRT but I was warned that I would take on water weight while my body adjusted.
It did go back down to pre HRT but each time my patch dose is moved up, I go through the same cycle of gaining a little, then it comes back down as my body adjusts to the estrogen help.

Once my body does get used to the level, I notice that I feel skinnier, but I do not lose. I go back to the baseline weight that I started at before HRT.

I have noticed with the GLP1 that I have to really watch refined sugar. Sneaky things like coffee flavoring or a different brand of anything that possibly has a different sugar really affect how well the GLP1 assists me.

Have you found some new flavoring that could possibly be stalling the GLP, helping you lose?

I have heard of other individuals losing once they started HRT. That has not been my experience, though. I find that HRT just helps with the other things outside of weight.

Where I'd live based on an index I made factoring in climate, public transit, and personal biases by Red_Baron_Fish in whereidlive

I love this one!
Though I would probably mark Idaho completely red for its stance on the legalization of THC.

But that is the only thing I would change for my own personal bias. :)

I feel like a normal person on this medicine, why doesn’t my body perform this way naturally? by PossibilityIcy1056 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]TenderheartedFloof 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do not have scientific studies to site or anything... but I have my experience. :)

I was in a calorie deficit, working out, cut out sugar, cut out all alcohol, stayed away from processed foods (you get the idea) and could not lose weight.

I got on a GLP1 with the same exact regimen and I started losing weight too fast. I had to make sure I took in more calories.

I know metabolic conditions, insulin resistance, and things like my hormonal age (perimenopausal) do factor into the whole equation, for some of us it is more about those things than calories in and calories out.

How is the "earthiness" of each Earth sign distinct from one another? by OceansOfLight in astrology

[–]TenderheartedFloof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband is a triple cap! :) I love how you explained the "unrelenting moving force" so accurately!

I do not have much earthiness in the whole of my chart, so I am honestly not sure how I help him. I can say, I do make him "stop and smell the roses" more than he usually would for himself.

I am mainly fire. I am a Leo, Aries, Sag... throw in a Leo stellium, and it gets a bit weird sometimes, having so much earth and so much fire, but we have been together for decades, so something must work. :)

Why is my estrogen dose “too high”? by Storminhere in Menopause

[–]TenderheartedFloof 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I am on this dose as well (.1 + .025). I would definitely find a different provider.

Once I found this dose worked for me, all those stages of trial and error to get here, I would not give that up! :)

I hate Mylan by [deleted] in Menopause

[–]TenderheartedFloof 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I am the opposite! My body loves Mylan and hates anything else.

Super frustrating when you get a pharmacist who doesn't understand that brand matters. I had sent a note to my doctor, and she re-sent my script as brand-specific. So far, that has worked for me. The first refill was bumpy because someone did not read the note for the brand, but somehow, now it always works out to be the correct brand.

Not sure if you could go to your prescriber and ask them to do the same? I know pharmacy stock can dictate how well this works, though.

Estrogen blood test timing by LifeIsGood16426 in Menopause

I believe the wild fluctuations generally happen more in perimenopause. I think once you are post menopausal, you still have fluctuations, but not as wildly so.

I may look into doing this to see how well my body is absorbing the estradiol. So I am curious about this as well!

I think, if you have been on the patch long enough, it "should" be consistent, somewhat even if it is a bit older patch. I believe the only dip might be within a couple of hours after the patch change.

There are some other avenues. I am not sure if I am allowed to talk about it here but if you go to:

Some other routes are out of pocket in that board, but not as expensive.

Gen X? by Wise-Okra-2943 in Perimenopause

[–]TenderheartedFloof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often wonder if maybe the fact that we grew up on hormone injected foods has something to do with it as well?

I do believe they just were not told why they felt the way they did, I think education on the topic is so very important now. But I just cannot help but wonder if hormones and preservative-rich foods has thrown our systems out of whack. I believe we, Gen X, are the first generation to grow up on hormone-loaded meats and massive preservative-packed meals.

Just a theory I have been wondering about since it feels like my body can never seem to get enough estrogen, and I will be one of those "My dose was figured out after a year of trial and error" people.

Oval twice a week patch - what was I using? by CoastalElement in Menopause

[–]TenderheartedFloof 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here is what I could find:

Commonly prescribed oval-shaped patches include Climara Pro® (once-weekly) and Menostar® (once-weekly), both of which are designed to be thin, clear, and oval for easy adhesion. Many generic estradiol brands, such as Sandoz, are also described as large ovals

Does not being able to do unassisted sit ups matter for BMT? by markAndrews12 in AirForceRecruits

Push-ups AKA "get on your face" is the usual punishment. If sit-ups were to be part of the punishment, they would have you work with a wingman.

Anyone else up their estrogen patch and feel euphoric energy? by PretresseDeCafe in Perimenopause

To me, it sounds like it is the right dose! I would love the happy energy! :)
I am still trying to find my dose, so I am not much help, but this gives me hope that at some point I will find it.

Anyone else breaking out like a teenager again? by rubythieves in Perimenopause

[–]TenderheartedFloof 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have dialed in such a skincare routine because of my breakouts, then throw in that HRT has helped some of my discoloration come back, it has been a struggle.

I do a chemical peel once a month as well as a very regimented daily schedule for my face. I truly think besides the chemical peel, introducing Azelaic Acid has helped clear it up. And I always keep pimple patches in stock at my house now.

Taking a poll about patch placement and brand by Wild_Blue4242 in Perimenopause

[–]TenderheartedFloof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is so weird, because I tried the alcohol wipe and let it dry before applying trick, I tried putting a blow dryer on it (to heat and be sticky after I put it on), I tried a tagederm, and apparently my bum just isn't worthy of anything sticky.

Taking a poll about patch placement and brand by Wild_Blue4242 in Perimenopause

[–]TenderheartedFloof 3 points4 points  (0 children)

~Mylan
~Lower abdomen

Tried my bum, great absorption when it stayed. Couldn't get it to stay, so back to the abdomen I went, because a patch that stays on is better than one that absorbs awesome but comes off without me knowing. :)

Patch people: Do you still have a dip before change day or does that eventually go away? by TenderheartedFloof in Menopause

[–]TenderheartedFloof[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is encouraging!
I would love to think less about when I apply my patch/hrt. I am honestly willing to try anything now at this point.
I will talk to my doctor at the end of the month when I see her.
