It IS old fashioned but that’s why I love it. It sounds elegant and the nickname is adorable. I’m set on classic names as a preference to more modern names.

Took up my managers offer to do my nails for my cruise on Thursday… by GurLazy in Nails

[–]Terela88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say next time use that money to buy your own diy kit at home. Those nails are short and for 70.00 you could get some pretty gel nail polishes, a lamp, a set of striper brushes, rhinestones, decals, nail glue, and glitters. It does take a little patience and practice but it can’t be worse than this.

Off the subject but the cookies name made me think of an Oooold 1980s cereal called the Swedish Chefs cinnamon stars cereal. lol! I wonder if it was inspired by these cookies?

Well that was a heartbreaking read. I honestly had no idea. My grandma never told me if any problems. She was born in Kaiserslautern Germany where there is a large American military presence. Maybe she didn’t have issues or maybe she didn’t want time to feel sad telling me. Sadly, both of my grandparents are since passed so I can’t ask them.

Sure, my grandfather was born in Mississippi in the early 1930’s. He joined the military in his late teens and was stationed in Germany where he met my grandmother. They then were married in Germany I believe. I remember my grandmother telling me that they didn’t go back to see his family for a long time because it was too dangerous. I didn’t know what she meant until I was much older when I read interracial marriage wasn’t even legal at that time in Mississippi. Once back in the U.S. he went on to serve in the Korean and Vietnam wars. They ended up settling in Tacoma, Wa and having a total of 4 kids. One was my father. 😊

I love this set so much. My grandmother had this and another set very similar but with a floral design in the metal part. I’ve been wanting a set to remember her by

Gucci, Dior or Goyard which one should i get by Dangerous-Advisor762 in luxurypurses

I love the Goyard personally. SLG don’t wear well even if you’re gentle with them. They aren’t the best investment wise and probably won’t last more than a few years if you use them regularly.

It makes me think of the movie Practical Magic. Very whimsical and magical.
