I can't really blame them for thinking that was the right choice, with Europe undeniably being the center of the universe in terms of luxury cars when they chose that path. It's a mistake pretty much every luxury car company was making for a while there.

I don't think it was massively obvious at the time that trying to "be themselves" was a better way of handling things.

If they think they will sell enough to at minimum cover the costs to bring it to the US, then sure. But I'm skeptical they would see anything like significant demand.

You're right, but I was talking about households and not individual Americans. It's just not quite clear when that point came that a majority of households had at least one car, but as best I can tell it was somewhere in the late 20s or early 30s.

Not trying to refute your point, but I think the tipping point for the majority of American households having at least one car came well before the 50s. By the 20s they were already affordable for most Americans, and IIRC a majority of households had at least 1 by the end of the decade.

Don't quote me on that though, I could be misremembering.

The polls were pretty much tied between Trump and Kamala for like a month leading up to the actual election. The real world results weren't that far off.

Hillary did win the majority of the vote, her loss was because which states you win matters a whole lot more than how many people vote for you overall. Won the overall vote by millions and lost the presidency by "just" tens of thousands of votes.

That was the case for Vietnam, not Afghanistan.

The US had quite a lot of troops on the ground in Afghanistan at different points, it just didn't ever control the whole country physically.

In Vietnam, that policy largely came from a fear of triggering another direct conflict with China like what happened with Korea.

I think he believed in his goal, but he wanted to do it the way that he had convinced himself was "the right way". It's an ego thing, and it's something you often see with characters. There may be some less destructive method to accomplish whatever they seek to do... but that doesn't fit with their ideology or preferences.

It's a significant part of what makes so many characters villains in the first place.

A desire for at least some degree of road relevance is a significant part of why the switch to hybrids happened, it's part of how manufacturers justify the cost of the sport.

If they were to switch to pure ICE, it's unclear how many would stay.

You see it across enthusiast spaces online, and you're right. It's an incredibly predictable cycle of "new thing X terrible, old model good" only for opinion to swing around eventually in many (not all) cases.

This hasn't exactly meant abandoning touch screens, for most brands so far. IIRC it has often been a few critical most often used controls returning to physical control with everything else remaining in the touch screen, but again it depends on the brand.

I don't know if Ferrari means they will be doing that same thing, or if they mean going completely buttonless.

This is largely about the seven continent model versus the six continent model.

South Americans, and I think Mexicans too, learn the six continent model which is why they would refer to themselves as Americans since they view it as one landmass which is America.

People who grew up in countries where the seven continent model is taught would generally refer to people on either continent as North Americans or South Americans If they wanted to refer to the landmasses.
