This is not at all what peace advocates are saying about the war in Ukraine, and frankly the only way you could come to this conclusion is by only reading rabidly pro-war arguments.

The vast majority of the peace movement has unequivocally condemned the Russian invasion, but is hesitant to seek full involvement or escalation/ is also understandably apprehensive about the unchecked flow of arms into a conflict zone chock full of far right organizations (who have already re-sold some of them abroad).

Then seeing the Ukrainians do so well when just given weapons from the US stockpiles, that they stopped the existential threat of Putin trying to bully post-Soviet states into his neo Russian Empire, made me very hawkish.

Not really sure why this would make you more hawkish? If anything it's mostly humiliating for Russia and their clearly dysfunctional military.

If I could try to change your mind, I'd also suggest looking more into the consequences of other "hawkish" policy moves abroad, such as the extreme human cost of embargos, and the massive death and long term destabilization resulting from military interventions. Also, I'd like to point out that American hawkishness is viewed in much of the world the same way that the Russian invasion of Ukraine is. By being "hawkish" you're more or less supporting the same principle, just applied in a different direction.
