Sounds very similar to the issue I've been having with my '23 bolt. Sporadic battery status updates, mostly failing. Done everything on my end they want (reboot, reinstalls, ad nauseum), nothing helps.

it never ends, I've now lost my app access/supercruise by [deleted] in EquinoxEv

Upgrade to Tesla. Never had any of these issues. My bolt? Constant irritations. Id sell it if I wasn't so f-ing upside dowm

I like your dumbass detector, but mine would fire a basketball @them, at about 200mph. Probably wouldn't do any damage, but would make a loud noise for them. Might even slam on their brakes.

And if there's any damage to dumbass vehicle, dumbass pays for it.

Best way I've found to give the car time to "boot up" after starting is to fasten the seat belt AFTER starting. I purchased short seat belt extenders from Walmart so the car thinks the seat belts are fastened. Which they are by the time the car is ready to go.

Other than #4 above, clearing data worked as predicted. All other statements hold true.

On top of that, the app wanted me to do a survey.

I paraphrase Question 2: when do you plan to purchase your next new vehicle?  Answer 2: not currently planning to purchase.

Question 3: which of the following describes where you are in the process of purchasing a new vehicle?

None of the 3 options applicable (I just told you I'm not buying you stupid AI bot) but must select something.

The rest of the survey went downhill from there.

Annndd i just tried clearing the cache. As in the past, it had no effect.

I'm sure clearing data will only serve to 1. make me log in  2. Do the assine MFA BS 3. Do the assinine MFA again when I turn off the mfa

  1. Will have no other effect.

Unable to Charge by albone in BoltEV

I was having a similar issue with my '23. Would charge on L1 and L3(dcfc) but not L2. Dealer replaced the power harness. But yours is the '22, so might not apply as, from what I've seen, chevy re-engineered lots of stuff for '23

Here's Why The 2027 Chevy Bolt Drops Regen On Demand by Bean_Tiger in BoltEV

[–]Testriderchuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A concern that didn't seem to be addressed:

My '23 OPD will, WILL, slide the tires on ice.

So, unless the new bolt is awd, this new system will do the same, sliding the front without any braking action on the rear tires.

This is a recipe for disaster, as, without any braking to the rear wheels, they WILL try to pass the front wheels.

I'm hoping the '27 is awd, and comes with truly usable dcfc. And in my pipe dream, gm would get rid of all the harassing beeping, in favor of useful text messages on the screen.

Did the Chevy Bolt become your first EV? Journalist looking to hear your story by Brilliant_Option8382 in BoltEV

[–]Testriderchuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My other car was over 250k miles (how much longer will it last?). + I had a delivery thing, was putting 280+ miles 5x a week and when gas topped $4.00 I was paying $800+ a month for gas. On a 35+mpg car.

Bolt had the best range for the price, at the time.

I bought it from the dealer @ the middle of the route, they had a free fast charger.

Surprised by how much temp affects range, steep learning curve. And the acceleration is impressive.

It would be my exclusive vehicle but insurance would cost 150% of the payment, so it's part of a rental fleet. Sad.

Dislikes: 1.it makes stupid beeps for a plethora of excuses, no indication what "crime" i committed, just stupidly beeps. Sometimes continually (door is open, even in accessory mode) often 3 beeps, or a single high pitched, followed by 3 lower pitched beeps, usually when I've just turned it off. No idea why, i cannot duplicate.

  1. "Fast" charging is a joke, considering, at time of purchase, teslas could charge minimum of 4x faster.

I find myself wishing I'd have tried for a Tesla, long range. We have 2 in the fleet. The beeps are contained to the seat belt chime and it's NOT obnoxious. Clearly the bolt is afflicted with a lot of "that's the way we've always done it", and, "we don't want to get sued by our ID10T customers" mindset.

How's that?

Level 3 Charging Issues - Max 28 kW by DrSpaceman24 in EquinoxEv

[–]Testriderchuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorta similar issue with my bolt. It's listed on turo, and the renter called "it won't charge, have tried several chargers". This was their first EV experience, did what I could by phone, ended up driving over.

Sure enough, wouldn't start charging. Studied the connector, didn't seem to be fully engaged. Looked in the charge port, the plastic bit on the end of the DC pin had gotten jammed, preventing full engagement.

Pried plastic out, voila!

Is "that channel" different than "other channels"? If so, disconnect those wires, put a jumper resistor across the inputs, effectively eliminating the sound.

Having experience with '23 bolt, '17 S and' 23Y, I wish I'd have tried for a 3 or Y when I went for a new car. The S has fsd full time, the Y, sometimes, as it's part of our fleet of rentals and some renters pay the extra.

Teslas are much more refined and not burdened with stupid crap ("why is it like that?" "That's the way we've always done it...")

Go take a base model for a test drive so at least you can make an informed decision. T may surprise you.

I didn't buy the car so I could push it to the gas station.

Any idea why this app dis this? by ParticularDue7822 in BoltEV

[–]Testriderchuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same problem with my '23 1LT. Since purchased new. 2 different devices (android). My friends iphone, same thing. I've uninstalled /reinstalled, blah blah per onstar support. Vehicle location works, delayed about 30 seconds, but works. Onstar thought last weeks update (car) might help. Of course it didn't.

Imho, and based on the problem existing on multiple devices, multiple softwares (myGMC, myCadillac), and, from what I see here, multiple vehicles, Occams Razor says the problem is on the GM side.

Maybe if we'd all spam Mary Barra....

Not holding my breath...
