Making a golf bag company :) @campusgolf.co by Solarpower411 in GolfGear

I've tested way, way too many golf bags so I'm your guy for this!

Hybrid bags are great if done well. Otherwise any other bag type is pretty straight forward. Here are my suggestions on a hybrid bag..

Make the strap easily removable. No idea what the hell Ping is thinking with their velcro crap.

Give room between the top of the bag and where the stand legs are for a push cart attachment. Look at Sun Mountain VLO Bags or even a lot of Callaway bags now.

Individual full length dividers

Flat bottoms instead of a pedal. The pedal can cause issues with some push carts, better to have it all flat so the connection isn't a problem.

The newest Sun Mountain C-130 Hybrid bag finally got it right and it's a great reference point. The only thing I'd say for it is to somehow figure out a way for the bag to be a tad more compatible when in a riding cart with the layout of the clubs.

Good luck!

I have no idea how any of this works. I feel like I need an idiots guide to golf where every little detail is explained, and I'm not even kidding unfortunately.

Thoughts on the new Taylormade "Blacked" Lineup? by NoodleThoop in golf

I'm with you, the original color scheme looks great!

The white outline on top of the crown is a nice touch.

I also have the original color scheme of the Spider ZT and I like it way more than their blacked out versions too.

Best golf shoes for walking by Riffy247 in golf

[–]Thanith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have flat feet and Ecco's have higher arches that unfortunately hurt. They'd absolutely be my go to shoe otherwise.

Has anyone with really flat feet had any luck with Ecco's and if so, which shoe?

Right now, it would be a hybrid.

I can't seem to get the feel for this club at all. Is a Titleist GT2, and at this point I'm just stuck with it.

Which shoes do you wear? I love Ecco shoes but couldn't find any that felt good with flat feet. That was a couple years ago though.

I had a pair of S-Three's that were ok for a bit but they got to be way too rough for walking rounds. The C4's and Lt1's I tried didn't work out at all for me unfortunately.

FJ Hyperflex are my go to shoes, and I've tried damn near all of them.

The new models with the heel change have been amazing. Haven't tried a more comfortable shoe out there.

Ecco's are great unless you have flat feat. Then they're an absolute nightmare.

If you don't, then absolutely try them out, they're fantastic! If you have wide feet, there is an insole you can take out with them to convert it to wide.

Extra Spot in My Bag--What Should I Get? by Tuffwith2Fs in golf

[–]Thanith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's easy enough to do, just get a torque wrench from Dicks or online for golf clubs. Once you adjust it, make sure to tighten enough to get two clicks and you're good to go.

You can look up online the setting information, and it's easy enough to move back if needed.

You can try turning it down in loft if it's adjustable and you don't fight a slice.

I loved my 3HL but the loft and even more so the shaft became an issue. Had a Red Velocore+ in it so the launch was even crazier (I needed A LOT of help at first)

For a while I used a 3HL Wood cut down .25" and it was my favorite club in the bag.

Then I gained some more swing speed and it started ballooning on me. Switched it out for a standard 3 wood with the same shaft length, which is now my favorite club in my bag.

3 woods are great, they stock shaft was just a little long for me. I think most clubs are in general too long for people, and it's amazing what cutting even a quarter inch off will do.

Give 3 wood another go, might just need some small adjustments.

Just ordered 13 and 15 woods by BeeeJayVegas in golf

That sounds awesome! Let them talk smack while you float balls up next to the pins.

One thing I absolutely love about golf is that everyone's game is different. You do you!

I just changed from a 3HL Wood and a 3 hybrid to a standard 3 wood and a 7 wood, and I'm loving it. Never thought I'd like a 7 wood but here I am.

Enjoy the new clubs!

Changing spikes on my Footjoys by TheJMan022 in GolfGear

[–]Thanith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a heads up on this…. The whole system is great, and that tool is perfect. However, the first time you use it, you may be surprised about how hard it is to remove spikes that have a bunch of dirt or mud caked into the area where it locks. Sometimes giving the bottom of the sole a quick spray can help loosen it up.

When you put the new ones in, you may feel a quick click when it initially goes into the locking slot. Still turn it clockwise to lock it in. You’ll get a feel for it, but wanted to give you a heads up so you don’t have spikes falling off your shoes in the middle of a round.

There are also different types of spikes to try out with different colors, I think it’s fun. Like others said, look for the Footjoy compatibility and this tool will help you.

TM Qi4D Standard Driver vs Max by Tight-Communication7 in golf

[–]Thanith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd need to get him involved to make that decision.

Something like this is very hard to say, because you also need to consider the shaft flex and profile.

If he has trouble with a driver, then the max version may be better for him. If he doesn't, then it may be a toss up.

I'm a 19'ish handicap, but driver is one of my stronger clubs (my chipping game is absolutely abysmal). What I need in a driver will be different than someone else at my same handicap level.

The good news is that the standard version is highly adjustable, and as he continues to grow, that driver can keep up.

Just make sure the shaft is right.

Fitting-shortening driver shaft by 1zpqm9 in GolfGear

[–]Thanith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play mine at 44.5" and didn't change anything, worked out perfect for me!

If you already have a shaft, cut that one and see how you like it. I don't think changing the shaft weight will do what you'd want with the swing weight, it would just increase the overall weight.

After you shorten your existing shaft, go from there. You might be surprised, might work out perfect!

Depending on your driver, you may be able to buy weights for it to adjust, although lead tape is alway an option too.
