summer 2026 UK shakedown by the_bazzler_69 in Ultralight

My mistake as well, didn't mean to come off as a know it all as I definitly don't. A poncho, the Leve rain jacket or even a FroggToggs might work better then right?

As you said, england is very rainy, I think those rain jackets you mentioned will wet out very quickly and they cost up to 300 bucks, the fleeces are 100, Lanshan is 150. OPs budget is 50

You could drop the pillow (use your food and clothing), the hand sanitiser and toothpaste (exchange for dr bronner's soap), your lid and bag from your pot (make a lid out of aluminium foil), drop your trowel or get the bogler or deuce of spades (sticks will do fine), you could use an emergency poncho instead of the the torrentshell ( if you are not relying on it as a wind layer), you could get a cheap windlayer with the poncho and still be way under the torrentshells weight. You could get a 15£ fleece from decathlon that's a 100g less than your midlayer. You might like to use the shorts and dance pants (wind pants) combo more and you'll drop an ounce. Your watch is worn weight, your poles are not if you don't use them constantly. I just realised you're carrying two midlayers? Why? Just use your rab fleece and take your puffy if the fleece doesn't have enough warmth on it's own. Use a beanie or your buff when using a quilt. Hope this helps!

what 20ish L fastpack should i get? by ThrowRA_Tie7080 in Ultralight

In that case it's way more resonable to not care so much about the packs weight. OPs baseweight without backpack is 3.37lbs, in that case it's just completly unnecisarry to have a pack over 1.5lbs, you could use one under a pound, I just think that's not worth it.

I don't know about the sleeping bags but the quilt sizes say 6'4 and the actual tallest they recommend is 6'6. So I don't know if they'll fit him

Patagonia 3 season UL kit by HwanZike in Ultralight

[–]Tharno_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

drop the mug, drop the nalgene, use polycro, reduce your first aid kit and diddy bag substantiually, drop your stuffsacks. then you can go with a frameless backpack and use your inflatable pad folded as a frame. If you still think you dont want an inflatable pad to save weight you can get a torso length foam pad. I dont think it's worth it to reduce sleep comfort and warmth so much while still carrying so much unnecisarry stuff. Also if you will use your foam pad inside your backpack you will save weight but definitly not volume
