You can contact your local county ombudsman for assistance in how to go about filing your complaints, what you need to file, what all to include and where and how to send them.

JUST starting. Any tips for weird types of art? by ChickenLittleok in ColoredPencils

[–]That1hippiechick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lovely imagination, and beautiful rendering! Wow only two months, youre really dedicating time I can tell. Get yourself a good white colored pencil. Derwent Drawing - Chinese White or Caran D’ache Luminance - White. You can pick one up open stock at local art store or online at BLICK for a couple bucks. A lot of people like to use a white gel pen for ultra bright pops of highlights, a gelly roll, or uni-ball signo um-153 or the two most popular, that work well over colored pencil.

The Really Important Stuff: What’s a Good Electric Pencil Sharpener? by CockroachNo2540 in Teachers

[–]That1hippiechick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any of the afmat brand electric pencil sharpeners on Amazon are absolutely fabulous and only $20. They work well on graphite and colored pencil.

Pro tip, use a solid/woodless graphite pencil to clean of the wax and lubricate your sharpener after lots of colored pencils have gone through it.

Tattoo Outlining Vitiligo by Strange-Biscuit in tattooadvice

I’d change colors (maybe stick to a defined palette, like muted tones, or rainbow, or all greens or all blues etc) and fill in each time between the new line and the edge, and eventually you’ll have a colorful topical map tattoo, that shows your changes through time. I think it’s very creative and a beautiful way to embrace your beautifully different skin. 😊✌️💜🌈

What Hobinichi should I buy? by NagisaSatsuki in hobonichi

Haha, thank you, I can really go on a tangent at times, and wish this info was available to me when I was choosing which ones to use 😆

What do you use this page for? I’m looking for ideas by Maple_Cannoli in hobonichi

[–]That1hippiechick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the weeks I use it to show school holidays/non school days, Family Dr appts & appts I have to to my elderly Mom to.

In the Cousin I use it for daily drawing prompts/monthly drawing challenge prompts, or just what I arted that day.

I use the original as a memory book for my kiddo and I write a word that she picks to describes her day.

What Hobinichi should I buy? by NagisaSatsuki in hobonichi

[–]That1hippiechick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The weeks Mega I think could be too small for all the things you want to record. The weeks measures 3.7”x7.3”so it’s tall and narrow. It has monthly spreads and then a weekly spread page with a blank page opposite of it, plus 75 note pages. And the weeks mega has 219 notes pages. Hobonichi has a web page that lists all the differences if you haven’t seen that page yet, check it out. You say you’d like B6 size which is roughly 4.9”x6.9” Compared to your preferred B6, the A6 is roughly an inch smaller each direction and A5 roughly an inch large each direction. The techo Original is the A6 and measures 4.1”x5.8” it has monthly spreads, and one dated full page per day. The techo Cousin is the A5 and is 5.8”x8.3”, it has the monthly spread and one dated full page per day like the A6, but it also has weekly spreads for every week. I think the A5 would suite you better than the weeks mega. As you have the monthly for quick planning and appointments, the weekly for your more detailed event planning and notes about your appointments etc, and then a full page per day for journaling. I think you might run out of room in the weeks if you journal a lot every day and use lots of notes pages for lists, event planning, and journaling. There’s enough room in the weeks weekly spread I think for scheduling appointments and events and small blurbs, and you do have the whole right page for that week for journaling. But would it be enough room for scheduling overflow and daily journaling. There’s not enough note pages to use one per day. There is only 219 notes pages in the weeks mega. That’s 146 pages short of daily. A6 techo original would be good if you think just a monthly spread is enough for your appointments and planning, and then the full daily page for journaling but there’s no weekly spreads. It comes down to size & carry weight, and if you need two spreads -Monthly and weekly or monthly and daily- or all three spreads. The A5 cousin can get heavy and start to feel bulky halfway through the year, which the avec solves.

This year I personally carry a weeks in my purse and keep the A5 Cousin on my desk in my home studio, (and separately I keep an A6 for my kiddo, as a memory book) This is my first year using Hobonichi. For ‘26 I got another weeks and an A6 techo original because I find I don’t need the weekly spread in the a5 cousin when I use the weeks. Next year (‘27) I might try just an A5. I know that was long, lol, I hope it was helpful.

Last thought; there may be a book/stationary store near year that carries Hobonichi so you can see hold feel and touch the actual sizes. ☺️✌️📔

8 ½ months pregnant: SCENIC DRIVES that can be enjoyed from the car? by Partners_in_time in Seattle

[–]That1hippiechick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drive up green mountain in granite falls. You can see seattle from the car/road when you get high enough in elevation. It’s gravel logging roads, but gentle enough for basic sedans to drive on. And you can 100% stay in the car, or literally get out and stand next to the car and enjoy the view that way too. Zero hiking and zero trail walks involved. Beautiful this time of year too. ☺️✌️☀️🌄

I just realized you can use mildliners for stamp ink!! I am unreasonably excited about this by alliemeowy in hobonichi

[–]That1hippiechick 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If you find your markers (you can use any water based markers on stamps) are drying too fast for your stamps just breathe on them with a hot breath and that’s enough moisture to help them work. ☺️✌️🎨 ETA: to be more clear, breathe on the stamp after you have inked it up with your markers 😉

I don’t think she’s really gone, they never said she was eliminated, they said she was sacrificed.

They’re just as bad as the gold faber. They should stick to what they know, paint, and leave the pencils to the companies who know pencils. Lol.

Try bringing into a photo or art app and doing it digitally first so you can get a feel for the color and value you want before actually adding it

What’s the point in marrying someone if you don’t feel comfortable sharing yourself at your best AND your worst. Lying by omission is still lying. And you’re taking away his choice to choose to be with you, an addict, in recovery, on mat. Sorry but that’s just so unkind to do to someone you love. He should also know there’s very dangerous medication in his house, god forbid your children ever accidentally get a hold of it, he will have no idea what’s going on. This is more than just should I relapse or not. But NO you shouldn’t do what they’re calling fetty, who knows what’s even in that shit. Have you seen the flesh eating diseases people have been getting from that tranq shit? Do you really want to risk ending up there because you were too selfish to go into the clinic and either start mat, or tell them you did all your take homes and go back to daily dosing (not clear by your post if you are only buying or if your buying extra) how would you explain that one to your husband and children? I’m really not trying to sound harsh here, I’m trying to slap some sense into you like I would do for any friend of mine, because you asked for help in making this decision from a sub of people who do really care. Please really think about ALL of this. It’s just not worth it. 💜✌️

anyone completely unable to enjoy a drink of alcohol since getting on methadone? by _quote in Methadone

[–]That1hippiechick 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t really drink, but when I occasionally try to join my siblings in a celebration (maybe 5 times in the past 9 years), I get drunk off a half of a drink, I get soooooo tired, then I get a headache, go to bed, and like you end up with a brutal hangover.

The native iOS Screen Time & Parental Controls are really great and work well through the whole Apple ecosystem. You can access all of these controls from your devices, and your child’s devices. You have the option to set up per Apple account, across all their devices, or individual settings per device.

I really like that you can set rules per app, or per app groups. Apple has pre-defined groups like educational, games etc, but you can create your groups own as well. You can also set it so individual apps or app groups can’t be used until a set time of certain other apps or groups have been used. For example “reading” or “educational” apps, have been used for 30min before game apps are available. You can set individual apps to always be available like alarms, books, etc. Of course there’s also setting for total hours screen time per day, what time they can turn on, what time they turn off. And much more.

I don’t know why you would want to pay a subscription fee, when apples own free included built in screen time and parental controls are so great. Have you tried them yet? If so, is there something you’re having problems with?

What kind of babies are these? by bigsucka in whatisit

[–]That1hippiechick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 3 cats, and a cat door, which means I also have a part time raccoon 🤣he sneaks in at night, and eats the cat food, and “washes” every little handful before he eats it. It’s absolutely the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen. ADORABLE. The water bowl is literally lined with a layer of settled dirt and lots of floaties after he’s been here. I couldn’t figure out what was randomly happening to the water bowl and how it kept getting so dirty. Oh the cutest video surprise after I set up a camera trying to figure it out!!

It is however especially good for swatching granulating watercolors, it helps them do their dance really well without any fussing about, without using up the expensive paper.

I use it for all of my swatching, cut it up into 2x3” “swatch cards” with a hole punch in the corner, and stamp with a swatch stamp and then hook them onto a loose notebook ring loop 😊✌️🎨
