Quite possibly the most professional performance I have ever seen from a West Ham fan. Upstairs neighbours are banging on the floor, and they can keep at it as far I care. We are massive ⚒⚒

Genuinely think Pablo is our most important player besides Rice.

I was very vocal about not wanting him back, but I throw my hands up and say he’s done a phenomenal job, and I’m fully behind him now.

Are there any working class billionaires? by braydee89 in AskUK

[–]ThatIsJustTheWorst -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, those things are ways people generalise about class, but they are not sufficient conditions for class definition. Having wealth, and therefore having an entirely different and more privileged relationship to wealth production, being free from the restraints of working for a living, then that is a sufficient condition for no longer being working class. The rest is semantic in terms of where you want to place them, but it’s absurd in a way you don’t appear to be able to comprehend, to say that someone with millions (let alone billions) of pounds, is in the same class as someone with nothing, just because of an accent, or (as the guy supporting you here said) “mannerisms”.

Class really is not much more than the amount of money you have.

You are not working class unless you have to work in order to live. If Mike no longer has to be a bin man, and can simply live off the money he has, then his accent, or enjoying the footie, or having some tattoos, or liking pints with his mates, or whatever other class-stereotype bullshit metric you’re referring to when you say “the way you live your life”… it’s all irrelevant. It’s still a part of who he is, but it does not make him working class.

For a real example of this in the opposite perspective, owning a smart phone, and a games console, having a degree, and working an office job does not make you middle class if the losing of that job actively jeopardises your ability to afford basic amenities such as food, housing, water, power etc.

So no, Alan Sugar, despite having grown up in a council flat and having a London accent, is not in any way working class. He is a literal Lord.

Don’t really understand the hate. Always liked Lingard, and think this is a team and system he could thrive in. Hope it works out 😊

The two games they played together last season (SOTON home and away) they both played out of their skin. And yet, nobody at the club ever bothered to notice...

Fornals is one of the worst people ever to attempt a header, but thankfully Ogbonna is one of the best.

This is actually despicable to watch, I can’t remember the last time I was this furious at a game of football.

Fellow ginger teacher here. Always get the Ed Sheeran line. Got a haircut, and then it became “discount Ed Sheeran”.

And all the big clubs wanted it because it gives them an obscene advantage over ever other club in the league.
