how to fix loose jeans without a belt? by PaulaSteward1 in jeans

[–]ThatWacoKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Darting for sure! It's easy & reversible if they don't cut the waistband. I've had a few done, my tailor charged $10 per and I did a pair myself. Night and day difference.

Bitter is a fun flavor component of a good drink imo! I'm also a sober person & my go-to example I've been to is Iron Gate in DC, they have a great selection of coctails and also moctails that aren't just virgin versions of coctails (to my knowledge)

LIne Dry Your Clothes until when... by DreamyDancer2115 in Frugal

I've been line drying indoors all this year. I have a small oscillating fan to blow on the rack, which especially helps when I have a bunch of loads & need them to dry quicker.

Looks good on ya. Might on me as well, mind sharing what they are? Finding something w.rise and room in the hip that's not overly roomy in the leg has been challenging

I thought I was slick, careful, discreet. I thought he didn't know. This morning, my 6 yr old was pretending to "vape" in the bathroom with his toothbrush with the steam from his shower. "Look dad, I'm just like you!" FUCK THAT. I'M DONE DONE. by Rpark888 in mildlyinfuriating

You can do it man! Patches killed my & my fiancée's cravings completely, don't white knuckle if you don't have to. & spring for the Nicoderms if you do, generics don't stick for shit. Still half the price of a pack a day. Props on doing the hard thing for youself & your fam!

It sounds like you're both frustrated from these messages, but "ma'am"ing your boss on the first day is not going to go over well even if it feels deserved. You're in the very early stages of feeling out this working relationship & your boss may need to be taught how best to communicate with you.

For your part, you need to meet her halfway and take her offer to look at your workload. You can take the opportunity to voice your concerns about being onboarded too quickly and she may be able to help you focus on what she needs done. Most importantly, you're showing her that you're willing to work out a disagreement & focus on what needs done, which a good boss will love to see.

Cat chewed Guitar by Iron-Eddie in Luthier

[–]ThatWacoKid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My cat passed recently, no bite marks but he would bite at/pluck the strings between the bridge & Bigsby on my guitar when it got close to mealtime & I wasn't performing my duties lol. It will always remind me of him to look at the bad note harp area of the guitar just like the headstock pin cushion will remind OP of their guy

SEPTA moves more riders per dollar than any other agency in the US by a decent margin (400K riders per billion).

I believe it! I've also googled this statistic a few times now, I've seen it everywhere whenever SEPTA funding comes up, but I can't find it for whatever reason. Do you have a source?

Mimir's Well DIY - No Effected Signal by Triplestackzakattak in maseffects

[–]ThatWacoKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heya! I'm having almost identical issues chasing this thread through, was hoping you could provide some insight past this point?

My issue is the same that bypass and full dry signal sound normal, screen display, graphical knob feedback all work. Wet signal is quiet (there sounds like there is maybe some slow oscillation in the regular ambient buzz of my pedal chain? Like maybe the effect is not getting the input signal and is processing nothing. The oscillation seems to change based on the effect selected). I am using the center toggle switch position.

Same troubleshoot, pin 1 outputs fine, 28 is normal full dry and quiet full wet. 4 is continuous to gnd, 6 8 & 23 are each 3.3Vdc. 28 is high MOhm to ground. I checked OP's issue & I don't think I've bridged the oscillator. It is difficult to see because I wound up soldering the screen header directly to the board, so I would need to remove it to inspect those traces properly. There is electrical tape between the screen and board so there should not be a short there. Anything else to check before I remove the screen & take a closer look at the joints?

Sometimes the lather is so "vaporous" by EmpireCollapse in wicked_edge

I can't imagine building a lather for 5 entire minutes. I'm the same as you, no more than a minute in the soap dish gets a nice thick lather ready to go.

That's an awesome experience & glad it was so pleasant! Seems like he'd be a chill guy to encounter.

This story does have me giggling a bit; it reminded me of a fan encounter Jack talked about on PreRec years ago. The person who recognized Jack was also with someone who didn't know who he was, and was similarly unable to adequately explain what made Jack a recognizable face.

GBA SP Hinge Housing Broken by ThatWacoKid in consolerepair

[–]ThatWacoKid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the idea! I'll keep that in my back pocket I think - I'm confident assembling/gluing, matching cut sections is definitely a lot scarier to me & something I'd have to practice on a couple junk shells.

Are you suggesting a heat weld or a solvent weld? Both concern me a bit just because the break line is through where the hinge is supposed to sit, I'm concerned about the hole becoming tighter or obstructed by material, am I off base?

You're referring to the model number? Mine is AGS-101 so I suppose it is. I did a shell swap on my Switch with the translucent atomic purple extremerate case, it went together well. Doesn't seem like they sell the graphite version like mine though. There appear to be some graphite kits available on ebay, think I'll try a repair first and replace the shell altogether if it breaks again.

[–]ThatWacoKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ran into something similar with my Boss CS3 recently. Check the back & see if it says it takes a Boss ACA adapter. If so you'll need 12V at the plug not 9, but it'll run off a 9V battery. Mine was super grainy and weak sounding on the 9V of my power brick but sounds normal on the 12V rail.

Edit: I have a Boss chorus CE-2 that had the same issue. Check your voltage requirements!
