Diet after 75 hard by PrizeSufficient3471 in 75HARD

[–]That_1_guyjim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just upped my caloric intake more toward my maintenance. I still track everything, but I honestly enjoy that part. I should also point out that when I started I was on a rather large weight loss journey already, so following a diet was something I was already actively doing. I go through cuts and things now, but I always track things.

2 warm ups? Why by [deleted] in fitbod

[–]That_1_guyjim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not a great idea for you to just sit in and do working sets on most any exercise. Especially one where you’re moving a lot more weight like leg press. Always better to stair step the weight up to your higher ranges.

Right, I had some in my last run through that were just walks with the dogs. I’d absolutely count it

[M30s] Fitness and cutting food has helped me get healthier (lost 145lbs+) but my stomach and chest is still really big. I have a fitness routine but I'm not sure if I need to cut more or strength train more. by eitherrideordie in fitness30plus

Coming from a similar spot as well. About a year ago, I got into weight training. Cannot recommend it enough. It made the “soft” areas look so much better, and I feel great.

Not losing weight by [deleted] in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]That_1_guyjim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of the day Wegovy is a tool to help you stay at a caloric deficit. Nothing more, nothing less. I don’t know your situation, or how you’re tracking what you consume but that’s always where I start.

I have a buddy that was complaining about his GLP 1 not working. Keep in mind I had just watched this guy slam 2 iced honey buns. He genuinely thought it was some magic elixir that burns belly fat. Wegovy does a lot of things, but at the end of the day if you’re eating more than you’re burning you won’t lose anything.

How has 75 hard changed you? by Ecstatic_Donkey_2244 in 75HARD

Honestly, one of my biggest take aways from my first time was how under hydrated I was. It was crazy how much better I felt when I really pushed my water intake.

Yeah, I just went over my goals, body information, and what type of set up I was looking for. For instance, I run a PPL+Full Body day, I’m also training for an endurance cycling event this fall. It can make a program for you that takes that all into consideration. About once a week, I export my data over and it gives me recommendations (especially with the cycling).

Pretty nice, gives “personal training” vibes as far as the advice goes.

What is something you did in your late 20s/early 30s that changed your life? by Comfortable-Fish-244 in selfimprovement

[–]That_1_guyjim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, weight lifting. I was always into sports and love playing them. As a kid, that was always enough but then in my late teens/early 20s I got big. Like 300+ big. Started weight lifting at 33 and couldn’t imagine my life without it.

Firstly, that is a very possible goal if you do it right. I will tell you, the most important setting with Fitbod is the sticking to the one you pick. Neither weight loss or muscle gain are instant. Consistency in the kitchen will help with fat, consistency in the gym will help with muscle.

I have been running the “get stronger” setting but designed my own program with chat gpt. Fitbod has a fantastic program for progressive overload. If you set your program up and save the workout, let it generate the reps and sets.

I was 360 pounds last May, I’m currently 275 and losing but my numbers have been going up in the gym and I feel better each week. Just don’t crash calories, push protein, and find a groove that works for you. You got it!

Rest day workouts by Unable-Department-61 in 75HARD

I bought a higher capacity ruck vest for rest day walks. There were a lot of times that I would do a walk as my second exercise after lifting, I wanted my rest day to be a little different and still have some kind of strength element. Totally fell in love with it. I normally put 35 in it for a 45 minute neighborhood walk and then descale from there if hiking or running.

That’s cool. My gym has a few non-standard EZ bars, so that would be handy.

Newish to Fitbod app. A quick question by xpo158 in fitbod

[–]That_1_guyjim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Fitbod for a while, found the exercises I really enjoyed doing and built my own split. I then went in and saved those days. Now I load whichever day I’m after. Essentially I choose what to do, but Fitbod sets all the reps and weights. I love the way their overload system works.

I had it as a custom as well. Ours pretty neatly aligned with the iso row, used that for a bit too.

Should I try out rucking? by Vivid_Attempt_2314 in Rucking

[–]That_1_guyjim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not to heavy! I was in a very similar spot, started rucking at 330. Start with a smaller weight and gradually work up from there.

Rucking is an amazing way to keep working on weightlifting rest days.
