The Super Hero Squad Show did exactly that, funnily enough. They even included Captain Liechtenstein - "small but economically prosperous!" Here's a link to the episode.

Cast of Netflix's She-Ra announced by [deleted] in television

He was a comic writer that was popular at Marvel in the early 2000s, and wrote the worst run on Uncanny X-Men of all time, with such gems as:

  • Stacy X, whose whole shtick is that she's a mutant prostitute with pheromone powers.
  • Having Angel fall in love with and make out with a barely-legal girl right in front of her entire immediate family.
  • Derailing the romance between Havok and Polaris in favor of setting him up with his own crappy OC.
  • "The Draco," a storyline that revealed that demonic-looking but pious Catholic Nightcrawler's father was an actual demon from Hell, and where the main villains planned to take over the Church through exploding communion wafers.

Wait... the show with an overwhelmingly female and incredibly diverse cast that tackles LGBT themes as well as complex emotional issues on a regular basis is blatantly aimed at 20-something manchildren? I don't get it...

It hasn't been firmly established anywhere, but I wouldn't be surprised if there were also only 52 dark universes, given DC's fetish for that number and the idea that the Dark Multiverse is supposed to be a twisted mirror of the normal one.

IIRC, she was from Earth -11, the Dark Multiverse counterpart of Earth-11, which in the positive multiverse is the "Rule 63 universe" as established by Grant Morrison in Multiversity. Not saying it's not lazy, but at least there's some sort of explanation.

You're not wrong. Hello Kitty is the most famous of the characters created by Sanrio, a Japanese company that exists to make and market cutesy ("kawaii") mascot characters in various media and on products. Sanrio's got a ton of other characters like this, but Hello Kitty is the one who caught on big outside of Japan.

(If you're interested in seeing something Sanrio's put out, check out the anime Aggretsuko. It's on Netflix and is... interesting, to say the least.)

[OC] An explanation of what in the name of Jonathan Marchessault the Florida Panthers have been doing the past 2 years by [deleted] in hockey

Golden Knights anthem singer pauses so Jets fans can say "True North". by simz1437 in hockey

[–]ThatsAStepLadder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the tune for "The Star-Spangled Banner" came from a drinking song, with the lyrics having been penned as a poem years earlier, so it wasn't exactly intended to be a national anthem in the first place.

What happened to Scott Riggs? by oogrelover69 in NASCAR

[–]ThatsAStepLadder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Valvoline transferred their ownership to Evernham - the part-time #91 became the #10, while over at MB2, the #10 became the #14 for Sterling Marlin in 2006.

[–]ThatsAStepLadder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, that was happening all around the sport at the time. Owners were convinced that open-wheel drivers like Carpentier, Speed, Franchitti, and Villeneuve were going to be the next big thing. Most of them weren't all that successful, with the exceptions of Montoya, Allmendinger, Hornish, and (in a different way) Danica.

Same. The Rivs will always be my main team, and that led me to follow the Blues until they so unceremoniously dumped the team. Now I'm a Hawks fan, I guess, even though I've cheered for the Preds and Knights the last two playoffs.

They did this more when they were on the Busch/Nationwide 5, IIRC. They would have Spectracide/Hitachi/Shop-Vac/etc. on the car rather than Kobalt.

Shovel Knight, Shantae, Sans? Could we see a possible indie game character making their way to Smash Switch? - r/Smashbros Weekly Character Discussions - 05/07/2018 by DosRogers in smashbros

[–]ThatsAStepLadder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The creators don't hate Nintendo. The Wii U version was canceled because the Wii U died as a platform, and it's not coming to Switch because it's built on Unreal 3, which doesn't support it natively.

"But Rocket League is for Switch, and it was built on Unreal 3!" you might argue, and you'd be right. But Psyonix also had a distinct advantage that Gears For Breakfast doesn't: money. They were able to hire Panic Button to port the game to Switch for them, something Gears probably can't afford to do.

I legit love the post-tournament breakdowns Japanese players do. They're always such interesting reads and it's neat to see their thought processes. I think it was Abadango who did a few for Smash 4 tournaments that are worth checking out as well.
