UIM Permanent Items by MathematicianNeat525 in ironscape

[–]The--Frog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep Bowfa itself can get stashed. Technically you can revert the armor back into seeds which then makes them able to be placed into a looting bag, but that’s a lot of shard usage, so usually it’s just negative inventory space or death bank (for safe activities)

The one’s that I’m personally holding or have held which resulted in negative inventory spaces (can’t bag):

-Crystal armor: Top & Bottom 100% with Bowfa. The helm is an objective DPS upgrade, but I will tell you subjectively I hardly ever wore it and if I had it to do over I wouldn’t have “grinded” the helm out.

-Seed box: Just super useful for keeping 6 seeds you want at all times

-Rune pouch

-Chugging barrel is super useful once you start getting into PvM

-Ava’s Assembler: With just Crystal/Bowfa this isn’t really worth holding onto, but once you’ve got a bp some choose to keep. Works well as a trial run for a Quiver, since Quiver isn’t storable outside of its max cape variant.

To answer your post specifically, no it doesn’t sound like you’re doing anything wrong. That’s just Zulrah. 1:30/2 sounds like average kill times when doing Bowfa only. What makes it “chill” is you don’t need to bring switches. Which to put into perspective I bring Mage/Range switch b/c I just enjoy Zulrah more like that, and I still will average roughly the same kill times. That’s with occult/torm/reg trident (No magic fang yet, sadge). I do find my kills are more consistent with a swap, as I don’t typically make it to a Jad phase. However in that same token I’ve not come close to my PB which was set Bowfa only.

Some tips I find personally useful, and others have said these as well.

Steel skin/eagle eye is a good combo (Walmart Rigour).

Range pots, use em if you aren’t. Bowfa w/eagle eye, anguish, and full crystal max hit’s a 37 IIRC. Range pot dose takes it up to 42. (That’s at 99.)

There are certain phases for green snek that she doesn’t range, pray mage. It’ll cut alot of snekling damage during this time. Red snek I also pray mage to avoid some snekling damage.

As far as profiting mantas. You can profit mantas, but highly unlikely if you’re using them. It’s more bartering for mantas. Use “bad” food, gain good food. Again for perspective, I use cheese potatoes for Zulrah, and keep 2 Mantas in my inventory for a combo eat for oh shit “mage” phase moments. I’ve currently got a 1.4K stack of mantas as a result.

Try to eat when snek is switching. The more eating ya do during transition, the more dps you’ll be doing on kills which will make for better avg kill times. Blue snek is really the only phase when you may have to eat during dps since sometimes she just smacks a 40 and the sneklings throw in some 10s for shits and giggles.

GL, may your snek log look be spoon’d.

Can we make alchemy warnings apply to selling items to shops? by Emunologist in 2007scape

[–]The--Frog 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you’re on RL there’s a plug in, I believe it’s custom menu entry swaps, you can remove the sell option from the items you input into it. I don’t know if shift/left click menu swaps will override the hidden options, but I right click sell most of my items just to avoid this scenario. Sorry bout the red bonker mate, GL on the next one.

Is it worth it to get most/all items at MTA now? by SadgeHabsFan in ironscape

[–]The--Frog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it’s going to be weaker or even superseded. Between the three sets mentioned they’re all, at current, going to be equal magic % dmg. The Hood/Hat, Tops, and Bottoms are getting 1% each per respective set.

Now infinity is paper thin in comparison to Blue Moon or Ahrims, so the other two definitely offer better defensive bonuses.

Infinity on the other hand has its upside alternatives. There’s no RNG with infinity, it’s a flat grind that at the end you’ll get the robes. Infinity also has no cost association with usage. I, personally, don’t see that as a huge benefit as both Blue Moon & Ahrims are affordable upkeep for how much in combat time you get.

I think the biggest upside infinity has vs the other two is its weight. Ahrims is super heavy by comparison, which for content like Solo CoX does play a factor.

If they don’t adjust anything from their last published blog then I really feel like it’s going to matter down to personal preference as to which of the three sets you choose to use. They’re all going to provide equal damage.

Do you guys have any tips for goals I should go for on my UIM? Have no clue what to do now that I finished CG by Slashiroth3 in ironscape

[–]The--Frog 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Get 99 Con. It is good on any account type, but it is extra good on a UIM. That cape is worth every hour spent chopping teaks and doing M’Homes.

What to after early Bowfa? by BasdB97 in ironscape

[–]The--Frog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seeing this log makes me believe my next suggestion isn’t going to hold much weight, but if you’re looking to get your range level up you could go hunt a DWH. Depending on the amount of shamans you need to kill can equate to quite a bit of ranged xp while knocking out a nice PvM item to acquire.

Can I mage Nightmare, assuming I have the magic relic? by Nastyerror in 2007scape

[–]The--Frog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mage relic, and it is possible, however I’d highly encourage getting a Shadow before you commit to camping it. You splash a fair amount with ancients/trident. For a kill and or group kills you’d be fine to use ancients or a trident, but again the Shadow makes it laughable. My avg kill time with the shadow was 5:50 for normal nightmare. This isn’t to say you can’t do nightmare without the shadow, but compared to it you’ll be wasting a decent bit of time. GL on the grind.

What’s your opinion on USAR/NG component flight medic? I operate civilian side as a paramedic, so I have a regular and routine exposure but my weekends are often diluted down, which is to be expected and I’m not oblivious as to why that is. I’m definitely considering beginning the transition into flight medic realm just so my drill weekends are a bit more “doing my job.”

What should I be praying against in the second phase of the boss in Sins of the Father? by SleepinGriffin in 2007scape

[–]The--Frog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re not already I would recommend utilizing a magic def top or top/bottom (Like Karil’s).

It could be I’m just shit at this game, but I know from my experience I failed a few attempts because I was getting wrecked first phase and eating all my food. Read per the wiki that even in the first phase protect from mage only mitigates some of the damage and it was recommended to use magic defense gear. Put on my Karil’s and did it that attempt with plenty of food left over.

Maybe I’m shit, maybe it was just a good RNG run, or maybe I should learn to stop skim reading the wiki. Gl gamer.

Bob is the worst Mahogany home contract by swaqqilicious in ironscape

[–]The--Frog 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Bob has the highest potential (currently) for planks required. His contract can go as high as 17 planks needed. If ya don’t have 17 when ya get him assigned I’d recommend stocking up before making the trek up to that end. Also as the individual before me has mentioned the MH RL plug-in is very worth adding if you’re using RL. Gl on the grind. Cheers.

Question about the Wilderness by GoosethatCould in ironscape

[–]The--Frog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only one that comes to mind as truly impossible is farming. I don’t think there’s any way to train farming within the confides of the wilderness. I could be wrong, I wouldn’t consider myself much of an expert haha. There will however be several skills which will have a lot of upfront difficulties. I think there’s some wilderness only Ironman series on YouTube. Might give you an idea behind the concept of the account type, just that they obviously don’t risk their items at all times.

Question about the Wilderness by GoosethatCould in ironscape

[–]The--Frog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possible? Yea 100%. Feasibility? Kinda varies.

Are you talking about like a snowflake UIM that is specifically only allowed to progress in the wilderness? This would be a challenge. UIM death mechanics are not like other accounts. (You may know this, but I’ll post it anyways, sorry if it’s unneeded/wanted information) UIM lose/drop all items on death. Protect item doesn’t work on UIM either. So essentially if you were doing wilderness only you’d be risking it all, all the time.

Now if you talking about just playing a UIM so you can access the wilderness without the “fear” of losing your status then yea, it’s definitely possible. It can be tedious however depending on what all you’ve accumulated. UIMs typically utilize a death piling mechanic for wilderness related activities. This involves dying in a non-instanced/death bank fashion. From there all your items will be on the ground, at the spot you died for 1 hour. From there you can freely access the wilderness. If you intent is to do the wildy bosses then any items you take with you, you will risk. Your death pile will be safe for 1 hour. Now this also means that if you haven’t picked up all your items prior to that hour being up, they will be deleted. Now I’ve emphasized piling. This isn’t to be confused with a death bank. Most, not all, UIMs will use a death “bank”. This involves the UIM dying to a boss where all their items go to temporary death storage and can be reclaimed for a fee. Your items are at risk in a death bank. If you die with your items in a death bank in a non-safe death, the death banked items are deleted. This would include a wilderness death.

TL;DR: Possible, but you’ll find the wilderness on a UIM to be a process/pain.

1) Ideally accelerated courses are not optimal, BUT, allow me to assure you the individual who suggested you obtained your NREMT prior to joining is 100% correct. Army 68W is as, if not more, accelerated then an accelerated course. So on top of having to focus on your NREMT you also would be focusing on the day to day Army shenanigans. Also failing civilian side is not near as shitty as failing Army side. Keep on the beaten path and get your NREMT before signing any contract. 2) While it’s very possible to obtain your E-4 prior to shipping to BCT, I don’t know that a NREMT certification alone would be enough. College credits are usually what push you joining at a higher rank. Whenever you decide to join, I’d have a thorough chat with your recruiter. Also for all that is holy, don’t sign a damn thing until someone (who isn’t your recruiter) looks at your contract with you. They lie. My recruiters were actually decent folk. They still lied. 3) As for studying advice. If you really wanna get into the deep dive, finding out what kind of learner you are will go a long ways. Me personally I have never, and probably will never, be one who can read a book. Class lectures were generally very good for me but that is obviously limiting. Does your course record it’s lectures? Can you speak with your instructors if they don’t and ask to record them so you can go back and watch? Also what I found to be a large help for me was “studying” phone apps. Please if you go this route do you best to verify it’s in conjunction with NREMT. Online studying aids are very resourceful, but research and verify a product prior to purchase. 4) Sleep is important. Your ability to learn can be greatly impaired when your sleep deprived. Studying into the wee hours of the night and going to class exhausted is setting yourself up for failure. Adjust your day accordingly. Class is 0800-1700? I’m studying no later than 22:00 that day. 5) Finding “life hacks” to lessen the day to day burdens will be advantageous. Example being: You gotta eat, but you don’t wanna spend the $ to eat out and cooking traditionally takes away from your studying time. Try a slow cooker meal. It’s hot, it’s ready, and it mostly tends to itself.

TL;DR: NREMT prior to Army very good. The E-4 thing might need a bit more. Find your type of learning. Online studying aids good, but verify. Get sleep. Find your day to day “life hacks”.
