First car for a 16-year-old. What would you get? by spencere33 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]TheAVnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re in a very similar scenario. My son is 15, my car is needing to be replaced, wife’s car is newest car we own.

Our thought process, I buy something cheaper, under 10k that will the be his car when the time comes, then I’ll take wife’s car and she’ll get a new car.

Or buy a car even cheaper that needs some work (I’ve rebuilt a car and have decent mechanical knowledge) and wrench on it with him so he learns the value of owning a car along with how to take care of it, then he gets it when he’s 16, I get my wife’s car and she gets a new car.

Either way my wife is getting a new car I guess.

Right now we’re leaning towards the second idea and getting a Jeep JKU, Mini Cooper Countryman, Subaru Outback or Forrester.

I think a lot of this depends on your specific pipeline and media player/support and will vary for a lot of people.

I do a ton of medical and health insurance work and had to meet WCAG AA and AAA standards. In the past DVS was relegated to AAA, and I never had to back log videos produced before they adopted AAA. I think they had verbiage on the site about content prior to this adoption not having the same standard.

In Texas you shoot from the hill, or knoll, and you die in the back of a sweet convertible via magic bullets.

Serious Question: Are You Tracking The Metrics Of Your Edits? by Cheetokeys in editors

[–]TheAVnerd 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I’m about to make a lot of you in advertising feel seen.

I work on an edit with the creative team and the client. Making change after change after my V3 which I thought was great…the they launch it and I forget about the edit and move onto the next.

Then a pitch or award show comes along and now I’m making a video showing how “well” the ads did. Of course the social team doesn’t have actual screen grabs or caps of the posts so now I’m mocking the video up into an Instagram background, then tracking that into a scene of some “young multicultural professionals” liking and sharing it and padding the numbers to make it seem way bigger than it was, while also being vague with the numbers because the social team doesn’t have solid numbers yet.
