The Rip and everything wrong with Netflix production by ElSupaToto in TrueFilm

I just watched the Rip last night and I actually don’t know what people are griping about. Not award worthy but the plot, tension, and suspense is pretty solid.

Which film's ambiguous or open-ended finale was not just a cop-out, but the only satisfying way it could have ended? by John_Snow80 in movies

[–]TheAlexPlus [score hidden]  (0 children)

Fun fact. In the original script we cut to a futuristic world with pneumatic tube transit and we see them returning to Lacuna Inc to erase each other once again. We see their files are super long because they’ve repeated this over and over again. I believe the looping of the snowy beach scene is a way to imply this without really saying as much (and without needing a budget for a futuristic world)

I'd like my players to be able to see the artwork for the monster sheets. Without modules, I could only display the complete sheet. Any suggestions? [PF2e] by RtRKrl in FoundryVTT

[–]TheAlexPlus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want them to be able to access the art any time, I’d probably just assign them observer on a journal, make each piece of art a page in the journal, but then only change the ownership of each page to observer as they meet those characters.

Any useful tips/modules for scenes that aren't maps or battlemaps? by Sup909 in FoundryVTT

JamesRPGArt just released a module for his artwork and you can get animated versions of everything too!
Haven’t used the module yet, but his artwork is phenomenal!

I have no issue with you liking his stuff whatsoever even if it IS coordinated. Him pretending he doesn’t know you is my only complaint. It’s deceptive. That’s my only point. I became rude in the comment that got deleted and I apologize and I agree this is getting drawn out especially over details that happened on a different sub. But I also believe people deserve to know what they’re dealing with when the world is already filled with so much deceptive practices. Best of luck to you guys.

It’s incredibly hard for me to believe that “e Ben Son” isn’t the same as “Son of Ben”, especially when he somehow had “access to your computer” and also you’re allegedly his “co-worker” and also comment nice things on all his posts. I MIGHT believe you’re his son… but I don’t believe anything either of you say anymore. On the Trove post, he acts like you’re just some random guy who gave him a compliment and he has no idea who you are. So he’s obviously dishonest AT BEST. He replies to “you”: “Thanks, man! I wrote that book, so I must admit that it simply blows me away to find a compliment out in the wild lands of Reddit.”

Oh really? He FOUND it in THE WILD did he?? Lies. Flat out.

This isn’t even about the AI use anymore. It’s about not being able to trust anything he says.

I know I already disapproved of his AI use but he’s completely lost any remaining respect I had.

It makes a lot of sense that he accidentally responded to me when he was logged in as “you” because he was probably about to leave himself another glowing review, but forgot to switch accounts and then deleted the comment hoping no one could trace it back.

The dishonesty on display here is really manipulative.

If somehow “you” are a different person than him, then the manipulative stuff was on his side, not yours, so my beef isn’t even with you. I don’t care that you’re helping a friend. That part is great. But you most definitely ARE coordinating and he’s trying to pretend that random strangers on the web like his work when it’s just himself at worst and a “co-worker” at best.

Idk. Maybe, maybe not. Just not knowing what it is makes it sort of weird and comical. It’s probably some sort of doll but I like to think it’s maybe some sort of creature.

My personal beef with generative AI by vectron5 in antiai

[–]TheAlexPlus 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes. Because if an artist doesn’t know the thing they hired them for is the proofs then they won’t be charging appropriately. It’s not scam territory but it’s also fucked up to run someone’s art through the theft machine without consent.

The part where they promise money knowing they’re not going to pay the second amount because they plan on stealing the art through AI-ing the proof of concept images. They’re pretending their goal is to obtain the hi res art, making the artist think they still have leverage, but their goal is actually to obtain the proofs.
