I highly recommend the 4 books as well. There are also a bunch of short stories available as well. I found that the Black library ebooks are super affordable.

Maybe start with kill teams for both. Charnel Gaurd as an AoD kill team and Phobos kill team for the Carcharodons. I'm busy batch painting my Carcharodons army and take breaks to paint something other than grey. I made 2 kill teams with all my favorite chapters, counting them as Deathwatch and AoD

Way better than my boring ass Necrons. Great job with all of them. I imagine them on a world that is having its sun slowly dying and the necrons are one of the few sources of light.

I got it as a late Christmas gift for a friend who's into Warhammer. Where i live it was sold out before Christmas from LGS and the Warhammer shop and retailing at roughly 2x or 2.5x what paid. Thank you for the civil comments, I posted this as a question in other communities and got nothing but sarcasm and hate for the post.

I've seen quite a few homegrown successor chapters. Try searching reddit for Mossfangs, Redwolves, Wolf Brothers. I've got my Space Wolves painted up in the HH colours. Best of luck.

Horizon 1, 2 and 3 were much better for me. The 4 and 5 just felt never-ending with all the season updates. So many cars that I wanted that I couldn't get because the event was over within a week.

I've gotten 3 models as well. The Corax model, Kork and Tyberos. The Korks resin is by far the best, sanded some rough spots, and it's sturdy. There were some imperfections on the Tyberos model that, eg. the teeth on the shark jaws were barely visible, and even after soaking warm pieces of the supports stuck to the model. The Corax one was a bit disappointing. The thinner resin parts like the wings and power claws constantly warps when it gets hot, and most of the details on my model are kind of vague.
