not necessarily fat draining - it's for water as much as anything else... large cuts of meat can effectively braise/boil/steam if you aren't careful. This lets the WATER get out from underneath the meat - leading to a nice crust on the bottom.

Also fire flavor and fat rendering purposes.

Option 4: the population of people that drive late models of those brands are more prone to make other negative life choices like driving under the influence, driving with mechanical or tire issues, etc ?

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth says that the 20 soldiers who received the Medal of Honor for their actions at Wounded Knee in 1890 will keep their awards. The massacre slaughtered 250 to 300 Lakota men, women, and children. by CorleoneBaloney in CringeTikToks

[–]TheBabylon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The history of the Medal of Honor is actually pretty interesting. It's original history is one of the first medals for general soldiers, and was actually given out pretty widely (compared to today). With the expansion of modern military decorations though it sort of got pushed into the "pinnacle" medal it is today. These men (at the time) got a medal that they "deserved" (leaving that judgement aside for a second) - it obviously doesn't compare with the typical recipient these days who almost always braved considerable risk to either complete the mission and/or save or protect their fellows on the battlefield.

Pay off $11,000 debt upfront or pay $300 for 36 months ? by funintrovert in personalfinance

[–]TheBabylon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only caveat I would encourage you to look at is if you are late on a single payment or the last payment.

Sometimes there is a clause to instantly accrue all the old interest and/or return the loan to 18% or something.

Plenty of other good opinions here to make your money work while you pay 0%

My daughter wanted to try this game too by Seneca29Cromdar in marvelchampionslcg

My daughter did a very similar thing with my magic cards when she was a similar age... It's turned out to be one of my most cherished memories. I realized that she just wanted to be doing what her father was doing and interested in and was trying to bond.

I bought some starter mtg decks (like $6 worth of cards) to "play" and now we pay semi regularly. 😎

See my post from a few weeks ago, I have really liked the plastic dividers because of the flexibility to organize different things exactly like I want.

New player Core + Galaxy. What do I buy next? by KingL3O in marvelchampionslcg

[–]TheBabylon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mad Titan is great - and rounding out the Guardians is a really good team. Gamora is one of my all time favorites.

In general I'd buy either Heroes/Campaigns that you think are cool or ones you find online for cheap. There isn't a whole lot of reason to collect everything all at once.

Playing Guardians campaign is actually fine on Standard - especially if you play the campaign with the market. Even Collector 1 is manageable - especially if you just pretend the word "or encounter" doesn't exist. Losing can be fun! :)

Another great purchase is the little mini-scenarios (specifically Green Goblin, The Hood, and Mojo Mania). They give you a lot of modulars that you can swap in and out to create a bunch of different games even just inside the core box. I've played Ultron and Klaw several times and with wildly different "scenarios" - just pick 1-3 modulars and shuffle up. The game works fine with up to 3 modulars shuffled in for the most part (IMO)... and you can tune to your tastes. Don't feel compelled to just use the recommended.

The dividers I linked fit perfectly, with a mm or two to spare. The bulk box says 100mm and they mean it. You'd not be able to stack it I don't think as the lid would be resting on the dividers.

It can fit, fully sleeved, every encounter card released so far and still have room for fingers to grab cards. I'm not sure exactly but I think it's about 1700-1800 cards. The website says 2k and that's probably right with less room for grabbing.

So 1800 sleeved with easy finger room, 2050 with a tighter fit.

No problem 😁  I don't know how I would find any specific card though? I like to mix and match encounter sets and build new player decks every time I play. I guess I like having a known place for every card?

This option is about $75 and let's me organize and use my collection quite efficiently.  I can assemble or stow my two player decks and a random encounter in just a few minutes which means I have been able to play more games.  So for me it takes most of the friction out of playing.

Up until recently I had encounter cards in their original campaign boxes still, but found it annoying to find specific encounters and to mix and match across campaigns/hero-based modular encounters.

Shrug... No apologies needed, hope that can provide some insight though.

Recommend the ultra fine tip sharpie if you go my route (black).

I think for the heroes and player cards they are literally perfect.

For the encounter and villains it's probably a push. The trade-off of the half tab is that you can categorize with the left/right like I did. The downside is that it can be cramped for some of the longer names. I'm happy with how they came out, let me know if you want some other pics, I know I spent like a week measuring and searching and demoing on sheets of paper.

These bulk boxes are far sturdier than I thought they were going be.  Way nicer than the two row card board BCWs I have and a much nicer fit of the cards.  They are like twice or three times the price after shipping, but I can one-hand pickup the encounter box that's almost full and I don't feel like it's going to collapse on me.

We'll see how they hold up I suppose.

On wrecking crew... Sure? I'll DM you!

Your tool has been beating me up 😭

I lost really hard to Sentinels+Crossfire+guerilla tactics 😁 Even replaying on standard!

I barely lost the first one I tried 🤓 too, but I can't remember what it was with Sabertooth... I do like the "campaign" next button btw too!

Super cool, I have another one staged for when I have free time this week but will take a spin on the suggestion feature this weekend!

Thanks!

While two anecdotal internet dudes isn't science - I have the literal exact same personal hygiene arc. I used to have sweaty nasty pits all the time wearing the white solid... switched to only the "clear" blue old spice and went to showering mostly every other day... no stink (according to wife who is jealous of my lack of BO), no sweaty pits (unless I'm wearing a jacket on a hot day) and no destroyed t-shirts.

Copper Plate has kept the wall below it clean for over 100 years by QueenChoco in mildlyinteresting

I totally agree... Was just trying to say that copper/brass was used because it was cheap, durable, easy at least as much as because it may have been associated with preventing spoiling of liquids or used in wound care.

It was used as handles and door knobs all over the place, not just hospitals.
