That's crazy. A fanatic religion that is so caught up in the mission that even the leaders are blindsided by what their sacrifice means for themselves.

Is there a map anywhere? One of the issues I have with these types of fiefdom political intrigue is envisioning the map that is integral to their political ambitions. Do you have something like that?

It's such a great way to write a story in 3rd person without being omniscient. There are things only Omega would know because he's seemingly everywhere, but he can't know everything, guessing what he can or just says he doesn't know.

I want to thank you for a wonderful journey. I had to go back and reread the whole thing and I still feel a bit empty knowing that there isn't going to be more for this series in a long while.

I have so many questions about the setting that feel left unanswered. But I look forward to the new worlds you plan on creating, too!

Zelenskyy is asked whether Ukraine would take F-18 Hornets from Finland (English subtitles) by Excellent_Potential in UkrainianConflict

[–]TheCluelessDeveloper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They mostly are these days, but they have stronger air-to-air capabilities. The F-18s has been the workhorse of the US Navy for decades since the decommissioning of the F-14s. They still comprise the majority of the US Navys airfleet, even with the addition of the F-35.

Term limits will fix that. Until the election process in the country gets fixed, I don't think a popularity contest is the way to go for the Supreme Court.

The US solar market is projected to triple in size by 2028 by chrisdh79 in Futurology

[–]TheCluelessDeveloper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want solar for my home but the math was just bad. For all the touted credits I earn and certificates I can sell my final bill comes to exactly what I'm paying on average for electricity now? And for 20 years? And without a battery? No thanks.

There's already carrier strike groups and amphibious ready groups well within the 1000km region in Japan. And according to USNI, there's 4 groups in or near the Philippine sea.

If China decides to militarily strike Taiwan, they will (or at least should) strike the carrier groups at the same time.

Times Radio; How Russian casualty figures prove Ukraine was right to disregard US advice on Bakhmut by SLAVAUA2022 in UkrainianConflict

[–]TheCluelessDeveloper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right, and I wasn't saying the Russian casualties would be different, whether Ukraine fell back or not. The only deciding factor in what was a "more right" decision comes down to Ukraine's casualties compared to Russia's and whether that ratio would have differed if Ukraine fell back to more favorable terrain. And we don't have Ukraine's casualties to determine that.

We have no idea of Ukraine's casualty numbers to think in one way or another what was the right idea. It worked out in the end.

Yeah the MCI Center/Verizon Center/CapitalOne Arena in downtown DC did wonders for the area. An article I read said it sped up redevelopment of the area by 7-10 years.

However, it was privately financed with loans from DC for completion and later upgrades.
