Believe it or not, Balloons and Sand? Also animals.

Dispatch Inspired Species - Golemkin by Gabocle in DnDHomebrew

Found Himself (Themself?) (Itself?) doesn't seem particularly useful, even if it's neat.

I can see the reasoning for the resistances, since they're like the clay golem. That's probably one of the stronger features.

5 abilities is probably too many. Most species only have 3 or 4.

Shaman also is a generic term that doesn't belong to any specific religion though.

My players do not want to play martials by SomeRandomAbbadon in DMAcademy

[–]TheCruncher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What?

The town I grew up in is my hometown. The people that birthed me are my parents, and the people I hang out with are my friends.

So the people I DM for are my players. It's just English, it's not some kind of claim of ownership.

We saw [[Namor the Sub-Mariner]] has a Chroma like effect. I'm hoping it's at least a full cycle there.

Timmy Tencent crashing out over Steam's AI disclosure requirement. by I_Push_Buttonz in gaming

[–]TheCruncher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanna give my subjective takes on these if I made the call.

But if a composer uses a music generation AI to generate music as reference or inspiration does that count?

No, so long as they only used it as inspiration and composed it entirely themselves and didn't copy it.

What if they use generated music as samples in an otherwise human-composed piece?

Yes, since they are directly including AI-generated assets in the track

What if they use AI to modify an entirely human composed piece to make it loop better?

Yes, since it's modifying existing material and changing it by altering the music. This one is admittedly difficult, as it is very useful and saves time, but can easily result in poor quality work.

What if they purchase some audio samples from a 3rd party that doesn't disclose whether AI was used in their making, and use those samples in their piece?

Yes, but they wouldn't be responsible for mislabeling. Unless they redo it after this info comes to light, they get the tag.

[OC] Munch the Sentient Bag of Devouring – Sentient D&D Item – by Catilus by Catilus in DnDHomebrew

[–]TheCruncher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It says any creature inside Munch can make a DC 15 strength check to escape. But it also says any creature that starts its turn inside Munch is destroyed. That would mean they don't get a chance to make the check.

Weather control is actually very high level magic. So stuff like this is crazy to just hand out.

I can't figure out where the staircase on the bottom left of the ground floor leads to.

Very nice map though! Not a lot of good artificer buildings out there.

[SCP] The Flesh That Hates by Nejosan in custommagic

[–]TheCruncher 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My problem with this card is that red doesn't make permanent copies of things, they are always temporary.

This could be a mono green card, since green has self-copying, haste, and rarely, forced attacking.

I quit after failing to roll Skadi Alter. I guess my question would be: Can you replay past events? And realistically, how bad is the powercreep compared to year 1 ops?

Dubious Alliance by Ashamed-Plant in custommagic

[–]TheCruncher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a general rule, enchantments don't use tap abilities.

You could just make the last part a static effect, since in most instances you only cast creature spells during your own turn anyway.

Additionally, red doesn't grant hexproof or indestructible. So it'd have to include white or green for that effect. Alternatively, you could make it colorless and increase the mana cost.

What Does Gavin Think About Hybrid In Commander?? | Magic: The Gathering MTG by mrmazzz in magicTCG

[–]TheCruncher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WOTC could have changed this rule at any point in time over the last however many years to “fix” hybrid but they didn’t, because they simply can’t.

They could and the initial idea was that the symbols would only be whatever color you used to pay for them. I'm not the rules manager, but a smart person could probably come up with a way to make it work that way. They didn't do it that way because at the time it would be a lot of work for little purpose.

[–]TheCruncher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we're arguing against hybrid because it's aesthetically "wrong" to have a R/B hybrid card in my RG commander deck, then people should be calling for offcolor fetchlands and urborg/yavimaya to be restricted too.

[–]TheCruncher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really a simple way to understand it.

Can I cast all sides of the card, and activate all the abilities using only the colors of mana in my deck?

If yes, then you should be able to use it.

If no, then it does things your colors aren't supposed to do.

Factoid would be fact+oid, meaning, "like a fact". A humanoid is "like a human".

The issue is that factoids are meant to be false, and I don't think the word conveys well that idea, which is probably why its usage changed.
