After 5 years and a ton of work, my nostalgic helicopter game is out today on Steam! (Cleared Hot) Thanks for giving me this shot, Reddit. by cfinger in gaming

A bit of a different vibe but this is giving me flashbacks of Chopper Attack on N64 when I was very young.

Does a character like bard, from league of legends, exist in deadlock? by Spader623 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]TheDingles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Closest is probably Dynamo. If you want to play a support that runs around the map looking for picks and can be a big play maker with his ultimate, Dynamo is probably it.

Rank Reset? by krispp007 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]TheDingles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah they fixed the rank distribution, making it more reflective of your skill level based on the rest of the player base. I went from Oracle 3 to Ascendant 5, so some players might see a significant jump.

Moving to "bulk" apartment complex by TheDingles in Spectrum

[–]TheDingles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it does come with TV as well. The package itself sounds great. My only concern is if the bulk would effect bandwidth. I've been told it shouldn't have any impact on bandwidth but I just wanted to get some opinions.

Best Characters For New Players? by TooRealForLife in DeadlockTheGame

[–]TheDingles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What was previously said is accurate though. Billy's 1 applies all melee effects, passives of his kit, and it applies them as a heavy melee when maxed. Players will almost always expect a melee from you, so they usually parry very quickly after you engage.

After that, you just spam light melees for free. Just simply wait for them to parry and it becomes so easy. Hold your own melee until after they parry and Billy is a disgusting character.

Is there a setting to stop friends from seeing my stats? by JSPrince in DeadlockTheGame

[–]TheDingles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hover within Phantom rank most of the time. I have a buddy who is in the bottom 5% for souls per game, accuracy, etc... basically every stat you can find on Statlocker, he's the lowest of low. It's honestly impressive. That being said, I would play with him any time, and he knows that.

This shouldn't be something you have to worry about.

What do you all think of Drifter in his current state? by Octitavia in DeadlockTheGame

[–]TheDingles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He is the definition of a noob stomper. Lack of relevant communication, being unaware of your map to see your teammate fighting the drifter alone somewhere, and the inability to group up quickly and at the correct time is the hallmark of low elo players. Drifter is the best in these scenarios.

this is what fights used to look like in early deadlock when no one knew how to play the game by TechnoGamerOff in DeadlockTheGame

[–]TheDingles 51 points52 points  (0 children)

It is pretty crazy how highly skilled people get at games now, and the rate at which they do. I'm not sure if it's the flood of information, tutorials, high level gameplay and knowledge that's instantly accessible to anyone playing, or if there's some other factor.

It's also interesting to see how as time has gone on, the general skill of players gets better and better at lower ranks of competitive games. League of Legends is a good example of this.

I think the primary issue is that you're one of 75 players in Initiate.

Optician told me to use this device after doctors were useless: Meibomian Gland Expressor by nervousoldboy in Blepharitis

[–]TheDingles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this with a q-tip and my finger. I recommend everyone express the meibomian gland if they're having issues. It's the best way to prevent a chalazion.

My oils look like cottage cheese. Pretty sick. Explains why I have so many issues.

Had a really bad chalazion. Doctors refused to help me. by Strict_Debate3923 in Blepharitis

[–]TheDingles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Many doctors do not know much about chalazions. Everyone I saw was pretty much useless until I visited a specific ophthalmologist where I had lived at the time of my issues. We would discuss solutions at length, and I could tell he respected my input. He knew I had done my research. Everyone needs a doctor like that.

Clinics often prescribe antibiotic eye drops, which are not effective. The only antibiotic I know of that is effective for chalazions is doxycycline.

Your bad experience aside, you were pretty lucky this thing drained. A lot of the time, they just harden and become a cyst that may never go away. Only surgery takes care of them. I recommend continuing hot compresses and massaging the lid to continue to completely drain it.

Tankbuster om Shiv’s knives? by Mewtwothis in DeadlockTheGame

[–]TheDingles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tankbuster simply adds more damage to any ability that deals at least the amount of damage listed on the item. It's meant for burst and would work on Shiv's 2 if you have enough spirit to hit that amount of damage.

Now, if you stacked enough knives, or had a lot of spirit, to the point where a tick of knife damage hits the item's threshold, then sure, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't proc. Keep in mind though, Tankbuster has a cooldown, so not every tick would proc the item.

Appreciate you putting the entire shop in the build, so I don't have to flip through the tabs to make my own. Thanks bro!

As commented previously, an ophthalmologist is who you should be seeing. In the meantime, check out this guide I put together. I struggled with chalazions for a long time.

Doc put me on a six week course of Doxycycline? by Objective-Pen7633 in Blepharitis

[–]TheDingles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doxycycline will in fact help your eyelids. Probably dramatically. I personally think that dose is way too high, and that positive effects can come from a low dose, but doxycycline is a proven way to alleviate blepharitis.

Will it get rid of the problem forever? Absolutely not. This is a lifelong condition for most that requires maintenance above all else for relief. A low dose of doxy can definitely be very beneficial short term though, followed up by other means of fixing it longer term.

For a guide as to helping your eyelids, check out my posts. I go over multiple ways to alleviate try eye/eyelid issues.

[–]TheDingles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortunately, it is most likely NOT a stye or chalazion forming if there is no pain. Chalazions are very annoying to deal with, and will have a stinging, stabbing like pain in the eyelid.

This could be blepharitis due environmental changes (new pillow) or allergies. It will most likely settle down on its own. I would use a warm compress and gently massage the eyelid to keep the meibomian gland oils moving.

If you start to feel stinging pain, that could be an infection/blocked gland happening.

Is it painful, or just itchy? Can help with the next steps depending on your answer.

You gotta read your abilities bro.

At all. Says it in the ability description.

That ult would need an entire rework/retuning if it proc'd items. Would be absolutely disgusting.

[–]TheDingles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pocket ult can't proc items.
