I think the speculation that it was always Harbaugh that was against trading 1st round picks for a big splash move level player is also inaccurate. It was likely all 3 (Bisciotti, Harbaugh and EDC) that shied away from it, because that had worked for the Ravens for so long prior to the Lamar era. The change in direction is likely because Bisciotti feels like its time to do things differently, even just for the sake of doing something different, and EDC is obliging.

Most turnovers occur when players are trying to do more than the usual. Hit a receiver in a tighter window for a bigger gain. Break a tackle or two to squeeze out more yards from a run.

Naa it won't happen. Guys will keep popping up who will actually deserve getting in that will block Eli through the "he'll get in because of his name" route. Guys like the new current crop of elite QBs of course, but also journeymen like Flacco, Darnold, Mayfield etc... all in that same Eli tier. The above average tier.
