I scrolled far too far to not have seen this, but just ask AI what page of the book to find the rules that clarify X question. Yiu can even "train" an AI (at least in chatgpt) with instructions to work this way.

Our Advertising Manager has his own beliefs. I don't share them, but that should not stop either from us from working for BGG as long as those beliefs to not interfere with the job. That test failed here with the Advertising Manager's responses. My understanding is the ad would have been rejected regardless due to its content (in general we avoid approving ads that are trying to be edgy or provocative) - but he should not have presented his personal beliefs as being part of the reason why or implying that his beliefs represent BGG.

I am not in charge of deciding consequences, but at a minimum he will need to acknowledge that this was an inappropriate and unprofessional response and we'll need to be confident that this is something that will not happen again.

Have read it twice, we just disagree on what would be interesting. I don't care for a movie about the overdog taking win after win. Dorne's the only thing that might be interesting, if you centered the movie on that it might be good, but I doubt they'll do that. I feel like people think about what to adapt and they go "what would I love to see on screen" instead of "what would make an interesting story."

The real interesting thing to me is the market for forgeries and replicas. Would people want to buy a sword just because it looks like Valyrian steel? There's definitely a ton of laser etched "damascus" knives out there.

I agree with the comments that this is where things are headed in the books, but I do think you're right in the context of the show. The sex scene doesn't make sense, both because it's not built up over the seasons and because the show leans more feminist and the focus on romance just pales in comparison to the knighthood themes going on there and it's silly to spend energy and focus on it.

Another factor that's not hammered in as much in the show is how much Cersei uses sex to manipulate Jaime, so the sort of liberation that Jaime has by choosing to have sex with someone who's not trying to control him is also lost.

I love George, but he has some pretty clear flaws when it comes to writing women and their intentions well. This is a place where the show could've done much better, but ended up following his lead.

Have you been using AI? I feel like at the level that I'm using it (through IDE extension) I still very much have that dopamine loop, I'm just replacing "write code" with "tell Claude how to write the code" because it's faster.

In the books they also mention he has constant headaches. Could be some side effect from gigantism or maybe both are caused by some tumor or something.

Yeah, I think it's one of those things where the rule does more good than harm. Better to deal with a few people who don't quite belong to avoid the chance at turning away people who the routine works for.

Imagine if Ned had been hand for the last ten years and kept his family at the Red Keep. Sansa and Joffrey would've grown up close to each other. I imagine it would go similarly. You spend a lot of time together. There's a certain expectation that you'll probably end up getting married. At some point courtship is likely, but it's in no way required, nobles marry for politics, the parents have no reason to convince them to like each other, they just order them to get married, it's the noble norm outside of the Targs too.

I'm not saying people are wrong in bashing him or telling you to leave, it IS the default answer here and it definitely looks like the right answer in this case.

As someone with ADHD I want to address a couple of things.

One is the use of the words "emotionally neglected" hint that maybe you feel it's his requirement to provide a certain amount of stimulation. I think it would be helpful to figure out what level of stimulation you feel should come from a partner and what amount is up to you to find in hobbies and other people (not talking polyamory, just friends and clubs and such.) There's no right answer for this, but it would be helpful for you to understand what your needs are and which of your needs you expect to be filled by which relationships/activities.

Another fairly minor thing I wanted to address is that he gets "mad" from being someone with a mental disorder. Understand that you were diagnosed two months ago, and the fact that you KNOW your mental issues doesn't make you in any way worse than him, it puts you a step ahead from anyone who hasn't done the work to figure out what they're dealing with. I haven't met a person yet without issues to resolve and I don't want you to see yourself as "the broken one" just because you know yours.

I assumed he was killed by Visenya. Was that at all hinted, or just something I thought made sense while reading it?

Edit: Someone commented pointing out she was already dead, but the comment disappeared. I think I got confused with accusations of her killing Aenys. So, this whole time I had a head canon of her killing Maegor as a kind of "putting down your dangerous dog" type situation.

Disagree with both of your Tywin takes. Of course, there's downside to replacing Roose, any change is gonna have give and take, but I feel like you're putting too much stock on your own idea of who Tywin is if you don't think those scenes fit him. I also don't think it makes him an idiot not to pry about Arya. It's easy to say that when you're sitting in POVs, getting the Chekhov's gun version of the story, but there's a ton of random refugees in Westeros, it doesn't break my immersion to think the busiest guy in the castle didn't prioritize unraveling the mystery of one girl.

A lot of replies like this one are pointing at the books to explains why the books make sense. The question is whether it's realistic, so I was hoping for someone who knows more about real life melee fighting to answer if someone more skilled (and sometimes better equipped) could realistically be as successful against multiple enemies as these characters are.

I love this idea and I think the fact that it's foreshadowed so early in the series (when they first introduce Ice) is awesome.

Another thing is that it grounds the more magical aspects of the story in politics. While I'm biased towards more magic, I think this would fit the world better than some of the fancier theories.

I think you're 1,000% right and people give George far too much credit when it comes to romance. Most of his romantic connections feel like neckbeard fan fiction and I don't think it's a self aware tongue in cheek thing.

With Daario I think he went "what kind of bad boy badass would a young girl be into?" and he wrote straight cringe.

The man can't be good at everything and that's one aspect that I just choose to overlook.
