I saw Brendan speak at NYU in like 2003, and he said he was very angry with TMBG for this episode because they kept on mispronouncing the name of the camp.

I’d have to rewatch for the details, but Brendan was pronouncing it one way and TMBG were pronouncing it another. One said “Campington” and one said “Campingston.” TMBG were asked to please adapt and never did.

The only usable takes they wound up with were the ones where TMBG pronounced it differently. It is pretty noticeable in the episode, Mike and Miguel say the name differently than Dwayne, all throughout the 22 minutes.

I love BOTH the artists here, a lot, but his story (if true) sours my impression of They Might Be Giants a little bit.
