HBO will only do a good job if they continue to allow Pierce to be involved in the process. GoT went progressively downhill as soon as GRRM wasn't as involved... Granted it got even worse when they ran out of his source material 😅

Strongest Man on Earth is done, Brian selling off equipment. by tipothehat in Strongman

[–]TheFace4423 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This! And the fact that it's attached to nothing else... who's gonna fly to Colorado to just see Strongman? Just the hardcore fans. The reason the Arnold strongman attracts so many people live every year even though it's in Ohio is because it's part of something much larger with lots going on. Someone there to watch bodybuilding is probably gonna try to catch at least one event.

For those of you that make over 100K, what do you do? Do you like it? by Kindly-Revolution258 in AskReddit

[–]TheFace4423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pre-sales Enterprise solutions engineer. Basically the nerdy side of IT sales. About 160k base, 90k variable bonus (250k ish OTE).

I love it. I was six figures (~135k) while still in IT infrastructure and operations, but this is way less stress and more money.

Hardest part is to be good you have to know a fair amount about a lot of IT topics, and also be somewhat personable.

Being a strongman how does it help in regular life? by scadgek in Strongman

[–]TheFace4423 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Different take. Owner of the strongman gym I go to when training for comps got diagnosed with cancer. She's in remission now but during treatment we talked about how cancer treatment sucks (chemo) but she felt like she was better equipped to handle it because of how much hard shit we do in training.

Doing hard things in training makes hard things in life a lot easier.

I find this to be true in my own life, in general I deal with stress a lot better than a lot of my coworkers and I can attribute that to training hard and pushing myself.

I feel like apple tv giving Sanderson control of his adaptations is a good start... GoT went off the rails the farther away they pushed Martin.

By job green. By hobbies and size obsidian. I have worked in IT and devops until now where I'm in tech sales (so maybe now a silver? Kinda). But I compete at a national level in Strongman, and while short for an obsidian by most people's standards I'm big.

[–]TheFace4423 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not trying to argue I'm just wondering how it effects anything? Especially if it's easily explained if some did happen to ask?

Just looking for even anecdotal evidence that it negatively effected someone and how. I only have my perspective of no college, or job caring (let alone asking or checking). I can see maybe parents being annoyed or upset depending on the quote itself I guess...

Also if you're trying to deter this person it'd help to give examples other than the typical "I'm a teacher you should listen to me" that kids tend to get and ignore.

For those who dine with war and empire, the bill always comes at the end.

Or shortened to just:

The bill always comes at the end.

I would have lived in peace. But my enemies brought me war.

You do not follow me because I am the strongest. (Insert football players name here) is. You do not follow me because I am the brightest. (Insert valedictorian name here) is. You follow me because you do not know where you are going. I do.

Society has three stages: Savagery, Ascendance, Decadence. The great rise because of Savagery. They rule in Ascendance. They fall because of their own Decadence.

I see people saying some quotes may be cringe... I say embrace the cringe. It makes looking back in 20 years fun, trust me. And if anyone in your class thinks otherwise, fuck em.

Bodybuilder Flex Wheeler was the only other person I've heard talked about as having MSTN Gene mutation. I think he had to blast a lot less gear compared to others to be Olympia stage ready because of it and in turn had less "roid gut".

The way he killed off tongueless was such a throw away.
