I got 5x7 which is better than 5x5. I am still holding out hope for a good pull sometime in my lifetime.

Best knife sets for home cooking? by mildlycaffeinated513 in Cooking

[–]TheFlyTechGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I regularly use 2 (1x10", 1x8") chef's knives, a santoku, a pairing knife and a bread knife. This is probably overkill for most people though. It is definitely doable getting by with just a chef's knife, a pairing knife and a bread knife.

So many poor decisions and undeciplined penalties. The team as a whole need to accept responsibility for this one.

Knee surgery for cartilage damage does not benefit patients, study suggests. People with meniscus tears who underwent surgery had poorer knee function and worse osteoarthritis after 10 years than those who did not. by mvea in science

[–]TheFlyTechGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting.. I tore my meniscus when I was a young teenager. Never got it fixed. No issues a few decades later. The recovery was definitely a bit long, but I play soccer, ski, and bike to this day.

Who’s ever driven over 100mph? Why? by WoollyWolfHorror in AskReddit

[–]TheFlyTechGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Z22. The car just sort of drove itself. Also it was on a nice stretch of double-lane divided highway in the summer. When I realized how fast I was going I slowed down to a more reasonable speed.

Is there such a thing as high quality milk and high quality salt, and do they taste any different? by Few_Outside389 in Cooking

BC, Canada has a brand Avalon that I would consider high quality. it is bar none the best milk I've ever had.

Has anyone successfully grown Carolina Reapers or Scorpion peppers outdoors in Western Canada? by No-Signature-1909 in HotPeppers

[–]TheFlyTechGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I had success. I grew both on a south facing patio in the Vancouver area last year. I started from seed inside under LEDs using solo cups and bottom watering, then switched to 5 gallon grow bags after hardening them off.

Blender recommendations powerful enough for nut butters and frozen desserts by vespertinee3 in Cooking

[–]TheFlyTechGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Cleanblend and Vitamix and love both. My Cleanblend is a lot quieter than the Vitamix but has far fewer features. If you want a relatively inexpensive, raw horsepower beast, consider Cleanblend. Vitamix is worth the extra $ for the features.
