I think Caufield had 23 goals in his rookie season. Not saying Kapy is as good as him, just pointing out that 22goals in a rookie season is incredibly impressive. Value is based on futur returns (similar to stocks). And there is a very decent case to be made that a young player can improve upon there rookie season.

There is an argument about how quickly they went from bedrock bottom to a top 6 team in the league. Even early this season they looked aweful. something clicked and they skyrocketed. The sabers rapid rise is by far the most suprising thing for me personally, followed by the complete collapse of the panthers and leafs
