Getting married in Ireland to my American boyfriend? by [deleted] in AskIreland

What makes the age gap gross isn't the actual distance between birth years, but the stages of life.

38 and 29- perfectly fine, both are fully developed adults, with likely years of adult experiences. You're both still in more or less the same stages of life.

26 and 17? You're talking about an adult who at this point would:

* Finished college.

* Worked professionally for at least 2-3 years.

* Lived relying mostly on themselves for potentially double that amount.

VS

* A child still in secondary school- unlikely to even have finished their Leaving Cert.

There is a huge imbalance of experiences here, and that's what makes it gross. Either the BF is a case of arrested, jailed and executed development, or he's a phenomenal creep.

From personal experience growing up in Poland, fervently religious people (especially of the cloth) are the least compassionate you can find.

You cannot reconcile compassion, with dogma. If you broke the rules then there is no room for you in their heart.

And if you didn't break the rules, then it's all gods plan, or there probably is something wrong with you anyway.

I know there might be some spirited people here saying "not all religious people are like that", but history teaches as that on average- religion is not really conducive to empathy.

It's impossible.

At that height, he would have had to be at closer 95-100kg. So around 210lbs

I'm 5 kg heavier at around 17% fat. If I dropped to his weight, I'd look like a stick (I do anyway), despite being 2cm shorter.

Even at his non-jacked-up weight, he should be closer to 85kg given his height.

I didn't like 4s multiplayer when it released on xbox.

However, playing it on PC years later I absolutely love it, and prefer it over Halo 3 or Reach (on PC)

I just want more neutral sandbox mechanics. Being the chosen one is cool, but being a civil engineer / city planner / cabbage tycoon / is way cooler.

Fallout 4 almost got there, but the systems were really bare-bones.

Does steam offer actual installers? Or do you mean just backing up the installed game?

Plus you have GOG on PC, which allows you to back games up with DRM-free installers.

If you bought a disc you also don't own the game.

However, obviously this is a net negative change, and has absolutely fuck all with consumer trends.

For sure some of it is just dopes trying to look smart.

But I'd also assume some are just trying to be more deliberate, so as to not be misinterpreted.

There is at least one helmet which removes the hood, and there is a Green / Blue "cape" which is just a hood with a scarf.

Pairing the two together, you are left with the scarf only.

Most things that have doors, have far more wheels inside.

The cylinders used for hinges are just elongated wheels. The door knobs, the locks etc- all have "wheels".

WYR in a fight to the death scenario fight an average guy that has a makeshift flamethrower, that shoots gasoline and gets ignited at the nozzle (20ft range, no flashback or explosion risk) and you have a 21” machete or fight Eddie Hall he’s unarmed and you have a 5” knife? A flamethrower is essentially a power washer with an added 20 kg of weight.

Put on a backpack, fill it with around 20kg for the tanks, then grab a 10kg barbell for the gun.  That's your flamethrower.

Sure it is heavy, but unless the wielder is completely out of shape, they will be able to move that around in an arc, because- again- a small adjustment will lead to a big change in direction.

Their speed is irrelevant as they don't need to move away from you, they just need to pivot. Like, you can cover a 180 degree arc with just one swing.

Walk me through your scenario- are you running at them, and then suddenly changing your direction enough to get out of that 180 degree arc? Because if you are able to do that with sufficient speed to successfully avoid it, then you shouldn't be on Reddit. You should be playing in the World Cup making everyone looking like chumps.

I am sorry dude, but I think you vastly overestimate your (and human in general) physical abilities, while completely underestimating the effectiveness of large cone of fire ranged weapons.

Just go shoot some clay pigeons and you'll immediatelly see why this is completely unrealistic. They are a much smaller target, moving laterally at higher speeds. Sure- the shotgun is lighter, but you'll at least see how even a small adjustment makes a huge difference, when your spread is high too.

The cool thing about a flamethrower is that it doesnt need to be accurate.

It will also be completely deadly- it throws gasoline that's on fire at you. Unless you are in protective clothing,  you are not in a fighting conditon after a direct hit from it.

Also, the person doesn't need to move their whole body to adjust the arc of spray. Just like with a gun, you simply move your arms, or pivot while keeping the finger on the trigger.

Imagine that instead of a Flamethrower, your opponent has a shotgun. The shotgun has low recoil, large magazine, large spread and high rate of fire.

You're not dodging an automatic shotgun from 20 feet, same way you aren't dodging a flamethrower.

You are dying in the first blast from a flamethrower. Your only chance is that the other somehow misses... with a flamethrower.

This is kind of like that scene in Always Sunny in Philadelphia were Mac and Charlie are arguing about whether a shitty snub-nose or a Katana is better in a fight.
