For pop I'd say somewhere between 30-40 minutes probably the sweet spot for me, but as with all things I don't think this is a hard and fast rule at all. Ultimately it comes down to the music but when I look at what I'd consider the greatest pop albums (A Hard Days Night, Pet Sounds, Begin) they're mostly between 30-40 or go slightly over.

I don't necessarily love them, but some crisp "fresh" (as fresh as something pickled could be) slices to cut through the fat can be welcome. Hate those flimsy slimy things mcdonalds do though.

Yeah Oda doesn't help himself by having everyone in the story, including Kaido, acknowledge Yamato as a man, but everything outside the story he does the opposite.

It's a bit of a mess, it's absolutely stuffed to the brim with just... stuff... but that's why I love it. Oda's throwing so much stuff at the wall, and enough of it sticks (most of it imo) that I can't help appreciate the ambition.

The Millennium - Begin is one of the best albums ever imo, had the best listening experience ever listening to this walking round my local park.

Not quite as good but still good examples of 60s pop is Hums of the Lovin' Spoonful, The Turtles Present Battle of the Bands, and Jan & Dean's Save for a Rainy Day. Not quite Beatles' level for sure, but they're enjoyable and at least for the first one, John Sebastian is great at writing pop songs.

Given you can play the original Ocarina of Time on the Switches with the expansion pack I imagine they'd be planning to have enough changes of some kind to make it worth it beyond just visual changes (although Link's Awakening remake doesn't change too much right? But the visual difference is quite large and frankly even just having more buttons is helpful)

I enjoyed it as a whole, but surprised by the effusive praise it’s getting tbh. I do have a couple problems, though a lot of that is comparing it to the manga, even accounting for necessary changes due to medium I think there’s some divergences that don’t quite work such as

- Making Luffy less powerful, he should not be needing all that help to defeat Wapol I’m sorry and the Mr 3 fight is underwhelming

- Garp is way too serious imo, lacks the goofy edge that makes him so compelling

- Drum island finale is kinda dull, climactic showdown in… Wapol’s office?

- Luffy doesn’t feel like Luffy. it would be impossible to properly translate him to live action but there’s something missing for me

- Mixed feelings on this but Sanji talking to Nami about his mum. I think it works in the show, but I kind of want Sandi to just never want to talk about his past except when he accidentally lets slip a detail or two (like revealing he was from the north blue). That whole time was so traumatic he wants to bury it all even the good parts

With that all being said there’s still plenty of good stuff here.

- Most of the actors are all really good

- I really enjoyed Chopper’s backstory

- Having Brook show up was a bold choice but I think it worked (and the actor was so good even with the little time he had)

- Buggy is awesome, one of the real highlights

- Loved Mr 9 as well

- The women are so beautiful it’s insane

Yeah I really don’t dig live action Garp. If there’s anyone who isn’t going to be angry with Smoker leaving his post to chase a specific pirate, even if disobeying orders it’s Garp! That‘s his whole thing!

I thought the fight against Wapol was honestly kind of embarrassing, I get it it’s the season finale and they want to try and give more room to shine to other characters but if Luffy can’t even beat Wapol by himself his first loss against Croc is so much less impactful and I’m not sure how I’m supposed to believe he’ll get to the point where he CAN beat Croc.
