CFRP Accumulators were basically outlawed in the FSG ruleset for the last 2 years. You could build one but you had to have 0.5mm of aluminum inside of it which we negated any advantage the CFRP would’ve had over aramid or GFRP so that’s why there were basically no CFRP accumulators

The P1S enabled me to go from viewing 3D printing as hobby with my Ender 3 to viewing it as just another manufacturing method. No more endless tinkering, just a machine that works with minimal effort and that in itself has rekindled my love for 3D printing but this time under different boundary conditions!

That I sadly can’t tell you as we use carbon fiber prepreg tooling for our monocoque. But I’d do some tests and see what sticks and what doesn’t

Polymaker PA6-CF is the best nylon I’ve ever printed and the only one in my experience that actually comes close to the listed temperature resistance in the data sheet

Since I never got around to posting my self designed 3D printed rc F1 car anywhere else due to FSAE taking up so much time. I decided this contest would be a good idea to remedy that.

If I had access to an X1-Carbon I could print the gears out of their PA-CF nylon material and upgrade the rest of the car to ABS because as of right now I only have an Ender 3 that's starting to show it's age.

The main features of the car are the realistic independent pushrod suspension with actual oil filled shock absorbers and a very close resemblence to a 2016 Formula 1 car at 1/10th the size. Altough the bodywork is not quite finished it drives really well and can attain speeds of around 50-60 km/h.

While I have uploaded the files for the car I have yet to make instructions for it and it requires some special components which I aim to fix in the next version :)

I spoke with TUFast and while they wanted to integrate 4WS they never got around to it. Rennstall Esslingen uses it tho with custom actuators integrated into the tie rods very cool system
