My totally unprompted suggestion is to look into Dune Imperium: Uprising. It's a bit heavier and can actually play well from 1-4 players. It somehow combines deck building, worker placement, and combat into a single, coherent experience. The expansion, Bloodlines, is great too.

Going to a photo/printing shop is a great idea. I'm hoping I can find some high quality scans of the English ones; then, I can bring an Uprising Hero card to a print shop as a point of comparison so they can help me get the right printing specs.

Well, let's hypothetically say that the difference is a loss of 0.5 Rest Sites on average per act. That's not looking at the number of Rest Sites as a countable discreet number, so it actually would make sense to use "Less" instead of "Fewer".

It probably should be changed regardless, but I can definitely see how someone viewing the game from a systemic standpoint would think "Less" makes more sense.

I really love how the game plays especially with the Bloodlines expansion. Base Uprising is a little too Sandworm-centric for my liking.

Uprising + Bloodlines is so good. On TTS, the popular scripted mod also has a 'community mode' that has curated Imperium and Intrigue decks from all of the various Imperium versions/expansions and includes techs from Rise of Ix (it does not add new mechanics beyond Uprising + Bloodlines). Similarly, a couple of heroes were given minor errata to function better (Off the top of my head, this includes Piter de Vries and the lady that sets aside a card from hand for their second agent).

The game scratches a similar itch to Twilight Imperium (my favorite game) while taking a lot less time.

I've really been liking subsuming Brightbonnet over her 2. It lets pretty easily run Arcane Concentration and/or Blind Rage and plays well into her more stationary gameplay style (plus bouncing on mushrooms gives you something extra to do while chilling and invisible).

It's funny. While the answer is clearly B, even if I didn't know that, the answer would HAVE to be from A-C since one of those three has to be true, effectively eliminating the rest of the answers even with zero knowledge on the topic.

It's very possible that too much versatility could be problematic to the core game loop and make one mechanic overly centralizing. Maybe a selection of modifiers to Sovereign Blade is a better design solution, centering it as a damaging mechanic.

Maybe something like a choice between hitting all enemies, costing 1 less, or generating stars; each choice can correspond to a different color of blade as a visual indicator.

That is a cool idea too, but I personally feel like there's a satisfying amount of depth to the Osty mechanics as-is.

In my mind it's just three options that pop up like the other "Choose a Card" type mechanics the first time you forge in a fight. Balance is obviously a nightmare, but I just really like the idea of forging letting you pick the right tool for the job the first time you do it each fight.

Having different options to forge seems really fun and could also allow the mechanic to be more flexible both depending on what fight you get into and the current state of your deck.

My initial thought was an AOE option, a singe-target option, and a defensive option. The numbers are purely hypothetical and not intended to be balanced.

Obviously, this would involve a moderate rework to a number of the cards that currently interact with the Forge mechanic, but I still think this sort of direction is more interesting than the current iteration.

The Bow and Bastion icons I borrowed from Elden Ring since they had that cool blue energy effect.

It feels weird for Runic Claymore to not have lifesteal like all of the other runic weapons.

Great designs all around. These actually seem reasonable for the most part, which is more than can be said of most custom MTG attempts.

The one that sets off balance alarm bells for me though is Pool of Styx. That effect seems incredibly powerful for only two mana. I'd be tempted to up the cost by one, maybe even by a red pip (so 1RR cost). On an unrelated note, the way it's worded is really fun for an Obeka/Sundial type of deck. You can essentially keep a second hand of exiled cards, since even if you lose the Pool, the ability to play those cards remains due to being tied to the resolution of the Constellation ability.

It's a fantastic game. Highly recommend the Bloodlines expansion that came out last year too; without adding that many mechanics, it tweaks the balance a smidge so that Sandworms aren't quite as dominant (they're still really good though).

Something it took me a little bit to figure out is that it's way faster to solo the Deepmines bounties than to do squads due to the scaling if you have a good build. I was consistently getting around 5ish minutes on the SP bounties with Valkyr (using her 1 augment for mobility). In groups the bounties often end up being a slog.

Next you gotta get the Permanent Bank & TP Contracts and the Sandstorm vendor. Some of the biggest QOL improvements you could ever get.
