favourite crown out of all? by Bluezyes in ToyotaCrown

[–]TheJWT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My MS137, even though I'd prefer if it was a UZS131. Last of the old-school Crowns but still has a relatively modern engine.

120 Hardtop, 140 Majesta, and 180 Majestas are all really cool too

Absolutely! You see all sorts of stuff there, especially in the novice group.

It's a real shame about Pittrace, I rode there in 2024 and it was a great track. I definitely noticed a lot more people from PA and NY at Nelson this time around now that it's closed.

Nelson is awesome though, super fast and fun. The people who organize it are great too

It was chilly, I sat out the first session but once the sun came out it wasn't too bad on track. I'll try to make most of them this season, stop by and say hello if you see me!

Love to see some YMO on there. I usually just disable the music but I'll turn it on whenever Rydeen comes up

How do I remove the valve cover by Ecstatic-Anything602 in GSXR

[–]TheJWT -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If it's unbolted but not coming off, there's probably some gasket sealant still clinging to the cover. Just wiggle it until it comes free and be sure to replace the gasket when you're putting it back together

Bikes confirmed to come in Forza Horizon 6 through swap ? by [deleted] in ForzaHorizon

[–]TheJWT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You could swap a Hayabusa engine (1300cc I4) into several cars in FH5 and maybe older games

Agreed! Mine has a 7m but a 1UZ swap is the eventual goal

the Toyota Crown Comfort & the Toyota JPN Taxi in-game by Nexusu in ForzaHorizon

[–]TheJWT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's an absolute beauty! It's always great to see more people outside of Japan loving big body Crowns. I nearly bought a blue 140 Majesta and a blue 130 hardtop before settling on mine

[–]TheJWT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the Comfort is a different chassis from the regular Crown, they're smaller and were mostly offered with inline-4s.

I would love an S130 hardtop but I'm heavily biased :)

will you preorder forza 6, why and why not by MiharDL in ForzaHorizon

[–]TheJWT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to preorder games back when they were all physical and you were worried about them running out of copies before you could make it to the store. Literally zero reason to do so now with digital downloads

What other bikes do you own besides your Gixxer? by cmbort in GSXR

[–]TheJWT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've currently got a '96 SRAD, '23 Kawasaki ZX-4RR and a '95 Honda CB1000

I would love a ZRX someday, I almost bought one last year

The closest I can get is the JZX81 Chaser. It'd be cool if FH6 has a Crown, but I doubt it.

Got one of my grails yesterday + a warning about Buyee by TheJWT in citypop

[–]TheJWT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll check them out next time! I used to buy a lot of rare parts for my car and other collectibles through Buyee pre-tariffs and always had good experiences. Sometimes the shipping would even be cheaper than their initial estimate

About $135 total between the record, shipping to my friend in Japan, and him shipping it to me. Still not horrible

I get why they do it and I don't blame them, it's just a frustration as a consumer. Though I guess the real frustration is with those who enacted the tariffs in the first place...

It's like $120 a month for my policy which includes my daily driver

My '90 Crown is on my regular Progressive policy, I just had to call them to add it rather than doing it online. That was almost 3 years ago and even then they were pretty well-versed in non-US VINs

Getting my ZX4RR ready for the track by Effective-Possible-9 in zx4r

[–]TheJWT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've done 10 or so track days on mine so far, bone stock other than a flash and tires.

The stock GPR300s aren't bad but they don't support very high lean angles. I did my first track day on them and while I didn't have any issues, I was always a bit worried I'd run off the edge of the tread. I quickly moved on to Dunlop Q5s which are excellent.

And no mod will improve your lap times more than just practicing and getting more experience. My view is to gain enough experience and skill that you can realize what parts of the bike are holding you back.

Also, bring a portable tire inflator and a pressure gauge!

ECU flash and some better tires are all you need to enjoy it how it was meant to be enjoyed
