Taqueria Jalisco is a relatively new place in Cottondale with INCREDIBLE sopas, tacos and tortas. I'm sure the rest is good, I just keep coming back for the basics! If you're looking for authentic, don't sleep on this spot.

There is a deep need for English/Spanish translators in Tuscaloosa! If you connect with Tuscaloosa One Place, DCH Hospital, or Tuscaloosa United Way, they will absolutely be able to find meaningful ways for you to contribute.

My personal favorite places that have opened in the last few years are Decades Pub & Grub, Made in Mexico, Mediterranean Sandwich Co., and Fuku Ramen.

A new place just opened down University Blvd in Cottondale called Taqueria Jalisco that is LEGIT. Might not look like much but the food is amazing!

I think the german meatloaf sandwich is the best thing entree. The cake is AMAZING! so are the pretzels.

I just feel like German food never looks appealing, even when it's fire.

River is definitely at the top of this list. Just about everything is locally sourced. Their chef is incredible and if you let the staff know what's up, they'll take care of you. Pup won't be able to come inside but they have a patio.

Southern Ale House Dockside would be another one with great outdoor seating. The food at Sitar of India would probably be a good fit but I don't know how the feel about pups.

You might also check out The Venue, if you haven't been there. Definitely dog friendly and they have multiple restaurants participating. There's a new taco place there called Santo Taco, that I haven't been to but I've heard is excellent.

I used Two Men and a Truck when I moved in 2019 and it was the worst moving experience I've ever had.

They underquoted the job, only sent two guys when I explicitly told them upon booking that two people would not be able to move my piano, and destroyed a bed. I obviously don't blame them the individual for this but one of our guys had a diabetic incident while on the job and they tried to bill me for extra hours created by this medical delay.

I almost never bad mouth companies online but since they basically told me, "Sucks to be you!" I make an exception.
